Stuhrling Original Regatta Ladies Divers Watch

I received my Stuhrling watch today. I had not heard of the brand previously, but am very happy with the watch. I would definitely recommed purchasing.

i was excited to buy this watch which appeared to be such a great deal. I admit to being thrilled when it arrived. The box and watch both were impressive. But after research, i've discovered there doesn't appear to be a Sturhling watch maker. I was told by a jeweler they are a "public relations" company. I have a feeling they may only sell on the internet which makes one wonder who pays the "retail" price. I'm sending mine back because i feel I've been a duped. PLS NOTE.. i may be wrong about this company and the watch may be a great watch. I'm only saying Caveat Emptor.

I bought this for my wife to use as an everyday watch so she could stop trashing her good watches at work. Watch looked great out of the box, looked great on her wrist and even looks great not telling time in her jewelry case. 1-2 months into ownership my wife tells me her new watch isn't keeping time. I take a look at it and sure enough it's about 9.5 minutes off. And then the problems started. Stem was unscrewed, time set, stem screwed back in and watch ran on time for about 24 hours. Everyday after that it fell behind 2-3 minutes. Some automatics need a few "run cycles" to get worked in and keep "accurate" time - learned this after I returned my omega speedmaster for keeping inaccurate time. On the 5th or 6th cycle I'm setting the time and I feel a little resistance while unscrewing the stem. I think well, better go the other so I screw the stem in and try to unscrew it, again. The stem had had enough and with accuracy and vindication, shot out of the watch into never, never land. I brought the watch to my jeweler to get his opinions and see if he could fix it, he just laughed and told me thanks for the joke. So it sits in a drawer, not being used and not keeping time - looks great doing though. Before you click add to cart, enter credit card and anticipate the arrival of your new toy you should rethink your decision and select a quartz moment in this price range. On another note, the band resembles a Rolex. In the 2-3 months of usage, my wife had several inquiries as to what model rolex. When she informed them it was not a rolex, judgments for wearing a knockoff were ever present. Don't buy it.
