Sterling Silver and 14k Yellow Gold Green Amethyst Ring

This Christmas gift became defected within a week. The stone is loose and jingles when I wear it. We'll see what Customer Service will do to fix the defect. Other than that the ring is beautiful.

I purchased this ring for my Mother's 60th birthday. She loved it. The only thing that I did not like about it was the green amethyst was not very green. I realize that this is a pale green, but it is sometimes hard to see the green. As long as Mom is happy, I am happy.

I just received this ring as a gift. It is absolutely stunning. The facets in the green amethyst sparkle, and there is just enough yellow gold around it to really set it off. This ring is perfect for the right hand. Unique, well made, and very comfortable on the hand. I have fairly large hands, size 8 ring finger on my right hand, and this ring is just big enough to be captivating, and just small enough to be all day comfortable. This ring is the perfect marriage of sterling silver and yellow gold. A great every day ring.

The ring in the photo looks grand. But, when you put the ring on, the stone is not as stunning and the light does not seem to hit it at all. It looks very generic and bland. The gold has a heavy appearance and is a more of an 18K color, and doesn't match 14k jewelry. However, the ring is very well made, very sturdy, nice feel on the hand, good weight, and nice craftsmanship. I'm thinking to take the ring to my jeweler and have it rhodium plated to make it all white gold color and really make it shine. This ring is lacking in luster and the design is futile. I had such high hopes for this item. Sigh.
