      I bought this locket for my mother as a Valentine's gift. I also bought one for me so we would have matching lockets. They are gorgeous. My mother asked me if I spent a fortune on it.       The necklace looks like a family heirloom. It has beautiful and intricate details and is easy to wear - heavy by quality standards but not too heavy around your neck. It goes with many of my outfits. I like that I can take the locket off and put it on a shorter chain, leather or silk cord, or a pretty satin ribbon.

    • This was my very first piece of marcasite (I always thought it was for older ladies). I bought it as a gift, but was so impressed that I wound up keeping it. Since this purchase, I have also bought some marcasite earrings and a bracelet. This locket is LOVELY! It is much lighter, brighter, and more sparkly than is shown in the pictures.

    • Great Locket

      If you want a necklace that makes a statement, this is the locket for you. It is not too large or too small, but may adequately be dressed up or down. The locket is as pictured. This locket was originally purchased as a gift for a family member. I liked it so much I purchased one for myself. It is oval shaped and rounded on both sides - which allows for it to move through out the day showing either the decorative front or plain back. Keep in mind that the back has cut outs just like the front. You can put a picture in there if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it, because you would be able to see if from the outside, and the draw of this necklace is the decorative marcasite and carving, not what one can put in it. The chain is delicate, but it works. My toddler loves to have me open and close it.
