  In my quest for finding the right brown ring, I tried this out along with two others. I have to say this one had the most sparkle. The cz's and the smaller smokey topaz really flash the light. In fact, so much sparkle that it's a little too dressy for what I wanted it for. The center stone is not one of the darker browns that I've seen, but I actually liked that. I think it has a slight bit of a taupe undertone to it. (as opposed to a golden brown, olive brown, etc) The checkerboard cutting is really nice too. I thought the band would be a bit more substantial from looking at the picture but it's not at all, it's very very thin for the size of the setting so the ring has a tendency to turn on the finger.. The gold plating looks like real gold IMO, Hope this helps in your decision.

  Let me start by saying, I love the setting of this ring. The size and comfort were great too. My main complaint is you can cleary tell it's plated gold and that the white topaz on the sides of the ring really don't stand out much. They are really small and I don't think have much sparkle. CZ's would have been a better choice IMO. The stone is cut nicely. It's a darker smokey topaz like the photo shows. If you like the look of Monet Jewelry, like they sell at Macy's, then you might really like this ring. If you're looking for something to look more real, or to get that feeling that "I can't believe I got this for this low price", you may be disappointed. Unlike most of Overstock's jewelry, I think it doesn't look that great for the price I paid. I ordered another topaz ring at the same time and it has much more sparkle and the gold plating looks more like real gold.   Setting is very attractive and stone is nice size. I have gotten compliments on the combination of yellow gold entwined with silver. Stone is deep brown and diamond accents are just right. Very attractive. I'm pleased.
