I bought the pair and received them within 5 days. The earrings only come in a basic box and a packing slip (no appraisal). I went to a local jeweler and he estimated that the earrings were a shade under 1/2 carat, one diamond was better than the other, the other diamond having some more inclusions, both rated in the H-I color range, and rated I1 for inclusion range. He thought that the value should be around $650-700 or so. Since i paid $500, I think this was a good value. He thinks that the overstock.com range of S1-I1 is too wide and can greatly influence the value of the diamond (i.e. you're more likely to get the bottom of the range). He also said that the earrings should be much more similar to each other, in my case it is not. To my naked eye, they look fine. A little small but in my girlfriend's ear, i'm sure they'll look proportional. I used an online coupon that shaved 10% off my purchase. I suggest searching for coupons prior to buying.

I gave these to my daughter as a 30th-birthday present. I was looking for a bargain, but wanted the earrings to be brilliant enough to go with her beautiful engagement ring. The original pair looked noticeably mismatched in size, and Overstock sent the replacement pair to the wrong address, so that we almost missed the birthday.

Overall a very good value. I had them appraised by an independent jeweler (not a retail chain) and he said they were about H color and SI1 or SI2 with a value of ~$650-$700. I also looked at them with the lens and there's no significant blemishes. The butterfly backing's are fine, you don't need screwbacks. In fact, from what I gathered, most people don't like the screw backs with only partial threads - where the entire stud is not threaded. Many people complain that they can't get the earrings snug because the backs won't screw down all the way. These backings are tight, I had to REALLY pull to get them off. Earrings are so small, you can't tell the weight difference between platinum and white gold, I got these because my wife's skin is sensitive to white gold but not platinum. These were for my wife's 30th birthday and she was very happy. It's the first diamonds I've purchased since her wedding ring almost 9 years ago. All in all, I'd buy these all over again if I had the option.
