    • Attractive, Substantial Timepiece

      After an exhaustive search for a new watch I finally settled on this Mount Royal. I'm a woman but wanted a man's size watch - even so, I was surprised at first at the size of this timepiece. It is quite heavy and large and took a little getting used to. Now that I've had it for a month, however, I've grown to really like its size and have received several complements on it. Even though it is a man's watch, it is sophisticated enough in its design (inspired perhaps by the Cartier tank watch) that it still looks feminine enough. It is fashion forward because of its size, but its design is more classic - a nice balance.So far, the finish has held up well - I wore it camping last week and it does not scratch easily. Even though it is large, the brushed silver finish is subdued so it never looks gaudy.One thing you cannot see from the pictures here is that there are ridges on the white watch face that emanate out from the center like a sunburst - I wish it did not have this detail - other than that it is exactly as shown.I'm very pleased with this purchase, especially at the price point. I would recommend it highly.

      I'm a watch collector. I bought 4 timepieces from OS on this order (3 of them were Mount Royal). This is my first experience with MR. The watch exceeded my expectations (sadly, I can't say the same about the other 2 MRs). This watch weighs about 1 metric ton! (which is a good thing, in my opinion, since all the top quality watches have a nice weight to them). The links of the band are thick and heavy. The case has equal heft and thickness, but its gently contoured shape allows it to rest very comfortably on my wrist. It has a solid, substantial look and feel. It's big, but not obnoxious. The sides of the case and edges of the band are polished to a mirror finish - sharp! The matte finish on the rest of the watch is sleek and flawless. The butterfly-style clasp and the resulting "full bracelet" look further contribute to its elegant style. The watch is versatile - it can be worn almost every day: its 2-tone finish allows you to "dress it" up or down (it's as at home with a nice pair of jeans and a polo shirt as it is with a suit or tuxedo). Its white dial with roman numerals reveals a classic, almost vintage look, however its large size, chronograph subdials, pushbuttons, chunky metal band, and cool matte finish give it a modern, sophisticated, somewhat sporty look. When the guy with over 3 dozen watches says that he is pleasantly surprised by this timepiece, you should probably get one before they sell out! This is a great price for a watch that looks (and feels) sooooo much more expensive than it really is.

      This is a great looking watch with a "Cartier" appearance. It has a nice weight, and is a good size for a more dressed up style. The two tone brushed finish looks expensive and is worth this minimal investment. As a watch collector this is my first experience with the Mount Royal brand. I chose it because of the look but have been impressed with the level of quality you get for the money. Give this one a try, you won't be disappointed.
