A screw-down crown (knob) creates a water-resistant seal. To unscrew the crown, turn counter-clockwise and pull/push into position to set time, date, and other functions. To close the crown, press it against the case and turn clockwise.

Le Chateau Persida LC Women's Black Ceramic Mother
This is a very unique watch and my wife loved it. It was a birthday gift for her and she wears it all the time when we go out. The face is large but not overly big. The finish is a pearl black and very stunning while the stone around the face really set the piece off. We are really pleased with the purchase.
