The inside measurement is only 15 inches and the clasp does not work at all -- I am not ready to break it trying to open so I am returning. And it does not look like any of my sterling jewelry -- too shiny and hard!

I was under impressed with this purchase. Thought it could be an "every day" necklace, but the links are too large and the silver overlay seems cheap - almost too shiny. The clasp doesn't work very well either. I would not recommend this item.
