I bought this as a gift for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day and put in pictures of her two grandsons. Some other reviews had complained that the locket itself was small, but it is accurate if you look closely at measurements in the photo and description. The locket and chain are of good quality, and seem to be an excellent value for the price. I appreciated another reviewer's idea of coloring the back of one of the pictures black so that it looks better through the open spots on the front of the locket. It looked much better that way than seeing the white through the front. She loved the gift and I was very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend it!

pictures are deceiving. the image makes the item appear quite a bit larger than it actually is. and the chain is a little cheap looking. but the item is quite beautiful, if a little small

My son bought this locket as part of his GF's graudation/18th birthday present, along with Marcasite and Onyx earrings from overstock.com. Shipping was fast and the merchandise was in great shape. The locket comes in a faux leather bag, the earrings came in a beautiful sturdy jewelery box. The locket is a nice size, and the chain was fine, although I read it was on the thin side. We also made a black satin necklace for the locket to hang off of, in addition to the silver chain. The locket IS NOT flat on the back, and the curved shape makes it a *tiny bit * bulky, but it looks really nice on her. She loves it! She is a thin girl and the size is perfect on her, although this is not an overly small piece of jewelery. I found the hinge and clasp that holds the locket together to be sturdy enough to stand up to careful wear and tear. We enclosed a pic of her on one side if the locket, and a pic of my son on the other and both fit easily. The locket is filigree so you can see through the front, but we used black marker on the back of the picture we put in that side, and it looks great. She is very pleased with the gift and it gives her a personal way to feel close to my son when she is away at college this coming year. We researched and shopped online for DAYS!!! for a locket and was nervous about our choice, but this turned out perfectly! I am super picky about how jewelery looks, and i was pleasantly surprised how "quality" this piece looks when I see it on her.

this is a beautiful peice, i didn't undertand what the other user's meant by it doesn't lay flat. now i know. it is very rounded off in the back and the chain is very thin and shorter than i expected. overall it is still nice.

I purchased this for my teenage daughter's best friend for her birthday. She loved it and wears it non stop. It is very pretty and not too large and holds 2 very small pictures just fine.
