I ordered this necklace for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas, because she had been asking her dad and I for a locket. I liked this one because it had her birthstone. I read the reviews and all the reviews were very favorable. I received my locket and was so excited because I just couldn't wait to wrap it because I knew she would love it. When I took it out of the package it was definitely beautiful and bigger than what I thought. When I got it, it was already opened and I was excited because I wanted to see what size photo would fit. As I went to close it back, the clasp didn't work. It wouldn't lock into place and it just held open. I was so disappointed and really hate to have to return it, but she can't walk around with a locket opened. I would have have preferred to exchange it because I think I may have just gotten a bad one, but there were no other ones. Other than the clasp the necklace was definitely a good value, beautiful and would have been a wonderful gift. I'm just disappointed, but I am glad that no one else experienced this.

I purchased this for a dear friend that lost her mom this past year. She and her mother have garnet as their birthstone and I thought she'd like to have it to put a photo of mom in. I haven't seen this yet, but she was thrilled when she received it. She said it was about the size of a quarter and was light weight so that it was comfortable to wear. She loved the sparkle of the marcasite and the off centered garnet made the piece unigue. Can't wait to see it this summer when I visit.

I was so happy to get this locket for my daughter. . .Unfortunately, the clasp didn't work, so it wouldn't stay closed and I had to return it. This is the only reason I gave it 2 stars. Other than that, it is a beautiful locket, delicate but sturdy looking. I bought the same thing as a gift for someone else, and that one was fine, so I think this was just a defective one. The garnet is a very pretty color.

Very Pretty, received in a timely manner but clasp to hold the locket closed does not work. disappointing on Christmas morning.

I got this necklace for my sister for Christmas and she loved it. I will buy more of those for myself and for presents.

I love the piece as a whole, the garnet is beautiful as it the marcasite.The chain is a very thin and the clasp is impossible and im replacing it as soon as possible.It was packaged suitably and the locket itself is the perfect size to hold a small photo.I would take mine to a jewellers as on the top the hinge sits to far to one side so there is a gap at the top when i close it, so im giving the workmanship a 4 *'s as well as the appearance.However the closing clasp on the locket itself is wonderful and shuts tight with a small click to tell you its shut.It does not say on the product description that the heart garnet is set so far to the left, i personally dont mind and think the symbolism is beautiful however i would have loved to see a frontal image of it.Other than that its a stunning piece and has just the right amount of room to keep a photo of my recentlty deceased father in it which means it fits the purpose whilst looking beautiful.

I Was extremely pleased with my purchases & cant wait to see my daughters reactions Christmas Day. I also bought one of the lockets for myself & have received many compliments.

This is actually a beautiful item. The detail is very good and the tiny garnet heart is cute. It looks just like the picture shows, contrary to some previous reviews. In actuality, the garnet heart is offset so that when it's worn, it sits on the left side of the locket just as your heart sits on the left side of your chest. It's supposed to be symbolic.

Very nice necklace for the money, very happy with purchase. I know sterling silver and this is a great buy for the money.

Overall, this piece looks okay. You can't tell from the picture, but the garnet heart is offset to the right, and not in the middle as it appears in the photo. Also, you can see through the front of the locket, so it won't work so well as an actual locket for holding something like a photo, which is exactly what I got it for. It's alright for the money. I suppose I will keep it and try to find something of my little girl's to put inside that won't show through.
