The pearls were brought as a graduation gift for a friend and she loved them. If you planned to purchase freshwater pearls do not expect the stones to be the same size, identical shape, or smooth in texture. The pearls were nice, some of stones had ripples in them. Which I thought was nice because it gave the pearls set character. Great value for the price.
They are bigger than I thought--but that is my own fault for not reading it properly. they are nice, but if I had seen them in person, I probably wouldn't have bought them. But then again, variety is the spice of life, so I am sure the recipients will be happy to get them!!

I really don't think that Overstock should be selling these 'pearls.' First of all they are fake; possibly clay pieces painted silver. In no way do they look like baroque pearls, real pearls or even nice costume jewelry pearls. They look ugly. The silver paint color is uniform, with no variation in shine or color. I am extremely disappointed.
The color of these pearls are more like light gray than even how "black pearls" could be medium to dark gray sometimes. I was personally a bit disappointed that they weren't darker as I had expected. However, they are still beautiful and wearable. I wish the earring clasps were S-hooks for a more elegant look. I may modify them myself in the future.
