I bought the watch with the green canvas band because I liked the looks of it, and wanted to try an Ecosystem watch, to avoid batteries. The watch is great. I like the large numerals that are easier to see. My only suggestions would be to:Make the date window bigger, to go with the numerals, I can't see the date without difficulty;Four eyelets in the strap would be plenty. Because there are seven, they go up the side of your wrist, in plain view, which I don't think is attractive. I may get another strap, for that reason.Except for these two items I would have given the watch 5 stars for features. I have not had it long enough to rate the durability.

THIS IS A GREAT KNOCK AROUND WATCH. HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO GET YOU TO WHERE YOU HAVE TO BE ON TIME AND, IF YOU SHOULD FORGET WHAT THE DATE IS IT HAS A DATE DAY FOR YOU. IT'S A GOOD SIZE WATCH YET NOT HEAVY. CITIZEN WATCHES ARE VERY DURABLE AND SO FAR THIS ONE HAS ALSO BEEN SO. I LIKE THE OLIVE (ARMY CORP.) GREEN CANVAS STRAP TOO. VERY COMFORTABLE. I BELIEVE IF YOU WANT A NICE LOOKING KNOCK AROUND WATCH THIS WOULD BE A GREAT ONE.

THIS IS ONE VERY BIG AND HEAVY WATCH. I like my watches to be big but this is huge. I checked this watch out for over 5 months and when overstock.com put this on sale I knew it was what I wanted. I saved over $50.00 dollars than any of the other Internet web sites and stores. I am very happy that I pulled the plug and bought this Citizen dive watch. This is a monster. I have had this for over 1 month. This is my second Eco-Drive watch. The first gained about 1 minute a week. This Eco-Drive is holding the time very well and has gained about 2 seconds a week. Changing the date is simple but the numbers are very small. The screw is on the left side and it took me about 1 week to automatically put my watch on, not upside down, without thinking about it. The bezel is very hard to turn but should losen up over time. The glow in the dark starts working with very little sun light. The outside numbers are huge and very easy to read. I know that this watch will last for years. Citizen spent extra money on the case. I doubt that any one who bought this EXCELLENT watch made the choice based upon how nice the carrying case is. With so many people trying to be "Green" this extra packaging was a waste. The only problem that I see is that the rubber strap is a bit small. With such a big and chunky watch I do not understand how Citizen decided to use this strap. I do not have a huge wrist but it is still tight just wearing this watch out and about. I have taken this Dive Watch on 3 pool dives, I live in South Florida, I have not needed to wear a wet suit so I have not used the extra strap. This was a great purchase all around. If anyone is on the fence deciding to buy this BJ8050-08E go ahead and get it now...You will be happy with the purchase. I plan to wear this watch all the time in water and out. I have gotten several comments about the quality and looks of how nice this watch is.

Two things to point out off the bat: I just got this watch today, but I assume that this Ecodrive will hold up like other Citizen watches. Overstocks price is not as competitive as other online retailers that are selling the watch for $150, but with a 15% off coupon, $175 drops down to that price. The watch is very light and I only recognize that it is on my wrist because it feels much more smooth and cool than previous watches. It is also has a much thinner and more sophisticated look than the pictures give credit. It has a very nice nickle brush finish that contrasts nicely with the non-nickle brushed lines that go along the band and highlight the face of the watch (the nickle brush finish is also on the underside of the band and the face which keeps the watch from sticking to my wrist like other metal watches). The dial looks black, until it catches some light, and then it has this brilliant dark navy blue shimmer that flashes the tight concentric circles that can only be described as looking like a newly finished disk brake (if the rotor were blue-crome). The hands and numbers are nicely accentuated with a bright glow in the dark yellow-lime green, and highlighted (the numbers) with a dark crome outline and (the hands) with white. The hours and minures are maked, and the detail that you can see on the dial shouts quality. Off the bat, I am impressed with how this watch seems to meet perfectly at the crossroads of conspicuous elegance and modern minimalism.

As other reviewers have commented, I actually like the color of the green band. The eyelets for it take a little getting use to. Overall it is a great looking watch with a nice face.

What's with all the fat wrists out there? I'm six feet tall, 180 lbs and this strap fits fine on my wrist. In fact, I use the 3rd grommet position. And, I happen to like the khaki-green strap - it goes well with white or blue shirts for the office, or looks cool with a T-shirt. Oh, and yeah, the watch itself.....this is a good-looking chronometer. Not ridiculously HUGE like some of those "fashion" watches (ugly!), just right. Polished bezel with brushed case. The red second-hand is cool and looks great on the black dial, but it will stop at 12:00 after it runs for an hour. It is designed to do that, as is the subdial that displays the "minutes." The watch keeps time perfectly, and, maybe best of all, it's an Eco-Drive - no batteries to replace! Great price and quick delivery - thanx Overstock!
