Eco-drive watch
Love the looks and feel of the watch but was disappointed to learn from my trusted jeweler (when I took it to have excess links removed) that this eco-drive watch requires a cell replacement every 3-4 years. This will necessitate finding a certified Citizens repair person. The current cost of the cell is about $50. This information would have been nice to know in advance of purchase and may well have affected my decision to select this watch.

Great watch
This was a 60th Birthday gift for my mother inlaw. She loved it. It is a nice sized watch. I have purchased Citizen Echo Drive for my husband, so far both are great. Looking forward to getting my father inlaw one for his upcoming 60th.

Nice Watch!
I'm very pleased with this watch. The overall quality seems very good. Make sure you read the instruction manual. The watch does display some warning signs in case your battery charge is getting low. The battery is supposed to hold a charge for 6 months even in the dark, but I haven't tested that. I've worn the watch almost every day, and it seems to get enough light to keep the battery charged. I hope to get years of use out of this watch.

You were given bad info on the EcoDrives.
EcoDrives last WAY longer than 3-4 years! I own 4 (incl this one), my son 2, DIL 1 and husband 3... starting in 1999 and our last two (to date) purchased in January 2011. We keep adding to our collection of EcoDrives. They just keep ticking... like the Energizer bunny. We've only had to have the battery/cell replaced in 2 of them. They look wonderful and we haven't had an issue with they band or crystal scratching. I'm currently looking for another EcoDrive as a gift for my niece. (Do note that if your second hand stops, then the watch needs some light to recharge. If the second hand goes 2-seconds at a time, it's again low on light. That's not the watches fault, it means it's been stuck in a drawer instead of being where the battery cell can get recharged from sun / light. Stick the watch out for awhile... reset the time - if needed - and the watch starts keeping time like normal. Once the cell gets recharged it's good to go for a long time... and it doesn't take long to recharge.)
