I have worked in jewelry stores with fine jewelry as well as costume jewelry. I think that any piece of jewelry that is interesting and different has merit, like this bracelet made of paua shell and pearls. First of all the interest, for me, is when you look at it and it is not all the same size and color of bead, and it is not placed in a specific pattern of beads, rather, it has the appearance of being random in design. Yet, the colors are cohesive and the shapes will catch someone's eye is worn with the right clothing. It appears to be casual, but would also "dress up" a fancy dress that is monocromatic. The double strand is sure to set this piece apart. I would not wear it with a multi-colored or floral dress as it would be "lost" to the viewer if you wear it this way. I would wear it with a simple light blue or medium blue dress that is sleeveless and flouncy to the knee. If a belt is worn, I would match it to the dress, or make sure it is a solid color such as red. The shells alone will bring conversation to you if you wear this, as they seem to move, as you move. It reminds one of a fish swimming in a pond or clear stream. Thus, a blue or blue/green dress would enhance this bracelet. The bracelet will enhance interest in you, and may even spark conversation, and at the very least admiration!

I purchased this bracelet for my 22 year old daughter's birthday. It looks a bit dainty-er in the picture that it actually is. I was a little concerned she would find it kind of chunky as she has small wrists...but she LOVED it! It is very pretty and unique looking, and the 2-strands is a very nice touch. This is an item to cherish.

I'm actually wearing it now! I wear it most days of the week. Because of its colors, it matches with so many outfits.
