I bought this watch to replace a "50M water resistant" Timex that crapped out after a swim in a pool. Did a little research to find one that had the features I wanted: Analog & digital display and a countdown timer. This one has that and SO much more! This one is water resistant to 200M, and is designed for scuba so you can actually push the buttons underwater without disturbing the seal. In addition to the hourly chime (which you can turn off if you don't want) it has 3 different alarms, with a bunch of alarm options: sound once at that time, sound every day at that time, sound at that time on a specific day of every month, etc. The countdown timer can be set to go off once or repeat. You can actually have it keep track of 3 different time zones... one on the analog hands, one on the "main" digital, and one on the "dual time" digital. It also has a lunar phase indicator (which appear to be right on track) and a tidal phase indicator. That last one takes some setting in the watch, requiring latitude/longitude and "tidal offset" It has a chart with info for some cities, but you may have to look it up elsewhere if your's isn't listed. I didn't really care about that, so I didn't worry about it.The only complaints I have with the watch relate to the band. I don't like plastic bands in general, and the little loop that is supposed to hold down the excess band outside the buckle will slide and let the excess stick out unless the band is fairly tight on the wrist. Since bands are relatively inexpensive and easily replaced, these complaints are pretty trivial. All in all, a great watch at a great value! I would definitely recommend!
