In my quest for finding the right brown ring, I tried this out along with two others. I have to say this one had the most sparkle. The cz's and the smaller smokey topaz really flash the light. In fact, so much sparkle that it's a little too dressy for what I wanted it for. The center stone is not one of the darker browns that I've seen, but I actually liked that. I think it has a slight bit of a taupe undertone to it. (as opposed to a golden brown, olive brown, etc) The checkerboard cutting is really nice too. I thought the band would be a bit more substantial from looking at the picture but it's not at all, it's very very thin for the size of the setting so the ring has a tendency to turn on the finger.. The gold plating looks like real gold IMO, Hope this helps in your decision.

This is my first purchase on overstock.com, and was a little skeptical. Ring arrived today, and it's really really pretty. My wife is very happy. We generally buy jewelry at department stores, but hadn't been able to find a pretty smoky quartz or dark topaz, and were looking. For the money, this is a a very splashy ring. However, I have small hands; thus the ring looked very gaudy on my finger.
