  My son bought this ring for his girlfriend for a Christmas present. Her birthstone is amethyst. Last year he got her a little promise ring for their first year dating. It was not nearly as nice as this ring. Needless to say, this replaced the promise ring.

  I bought this for my gf as a bday gift . She hasn't got it yet but I know she will love it. It's a beautiful silver ring with a sweet purple heart on top. Very shinny too. I just love it n i know she will too.

  I've gotten a copule comments on this ring and I think people think it's more expensive than it actually is! I love the contrast of the delicate-looking (but sturdy) band going into the big chunky amethyst. I also love how the metal attaches to the amethyst in a very whimsical and art nouveau inspired way. The details on the underside are very nice and do not look cheap. Overall, i'd say this is a great piece! I only wish they also made it in a square amethyst. Also keep in mind that the amethyst is pretty big, so if you wear other rings on your finger, this would be the focus piece.
