Akribos XXIV Monster Rig Men's Automatic Strap Watch

I love watches.... I have all kinds. This is my first Akribos watch and so far I've been happy with it. The watch comes delivered in a long black rectangular faux leather bound box with gold inlay printing across the top. It's a very elegant presentation. It's nice enough that you'll not want to throw it away. It's also nice enough that if you want to ship this to someone as a gift, they'll certainly be impressed by it's presentation when received. Once opened, you'll see the watch is laid out flat. In my case the time needed to be adjusted and this is where I ran into my first issue. According to the instructions, there are two positions the winding dial can take. First position is to wind the watch, the second is to set the time. Based on how previous watches I've owned operate, to access the first position, you gently pull out the dial until you reach the first stop and you're at the first position. Gently pull it out again until your at the second stop and you're at the second position. In this case, I gently pulled the know and "barely" felt the fist stop. Thinking I had one more to go, I pull it again to reach the second stop and before I knew it, I had completely pulled out the knob. Needless to say I was in disbelief!! I hadn't even had the watch in my possession for more then 5 mins and I had potentially broken it! Luckily I was able to reinsert the knob and everything was fine. So, lesson learned. What's the lesson? When the knob is completely inserted, it's already at the first position. When setting the time, pull out until you reach the first stop and you're at the second position. So my fault for not realizing that in the instructions? Maybe... Needless to say it was a little confusing. The only other issue really isn't an issue it's more just an inconvenience centered around the inherit design flaw of watches without numbers on the face. That has to do with setting the time. Because it's not entirely clear when 2:09 is you kind of have to guess if that's the time you're setting to. To be safe, waiting until the top, half or quarter hour is about the only way to be 100% sure you've set the time as accurately as possible. Again, more an "user error" issue then anything else. Would I recommend someone else to buy the watch? Absolutely!!! Do I love wearing it around? Yup!! Does it look like it costs more then $100 bucks? Boy does it ever! Great watch just suggest the instructions are more clear in the different positions when setting the time vs. winding the watch.
