14k White Gold Overlay Clear Solitaire Ring

After reading the reviews and looking around at other CZ rings I ordered this ring. It is pretty costume jewelry but in no means will fool anyone unless they stay more than 4 feet away or the lighting is very dim, but that probably could be said of a lot of this type of ring. What I didn't see in the included picture above was that in between the silver knobbies on the band are really tiny and fake looking flat CZ's (almost sequins). This was the reason I returned it, as I wasn't expecting those to be there and it really cheapens the look of the ring for me. I preferred the picture, which doesn't show these. Secondly, I returned the ring because the top CZ was also a bit too much on the fake side, casting in a blue (exactly like the picture depicts but I wasn't sure if that had to do with photographic ambient lighting effects or color correction techniques), and so it really just looks like a big piece of glass. The remedy for me is to return this ring and hunt for a smaller (and more realistic size) CZ so that I won't be embarrassed to wear it in public in normal lighting. This is a piece good of costume jewelry for going to the symphony, at night, when you are dressed up and the lighting is usually dimmed, otherwise not for everyday fooling everyone. It is just too big of a CZ on top for most to believe for a second that it is real. The people who could afford a real diamond this size would just get a real diamond this size and wear that. Otherwise, the cut is good, the band is shiny (didn't wear it for more than a minute so I don't know if it will turn), and the overall design of the ring was pretty, except for those unexpected and unwanted "sequin" type things on the band. Perfect for limited occasions coupled with very dimmed lighting.
