I gave this necklace as a gift for my mom's 60th birthday. My husband who has only used 1 jeweler was skeptical on buying jewelery online sight unseen. But he was overwhelmed when he found the quality of the product was exactly as described (and more). This was our first purchase on Overstock and we are already back to buy a Pandora bracelet. This is a nice piece; however, I returned it. I purchased two different green amethyst heart necklaces from Overstock and compared the two. One in white gold and the other in yellow gold. I realize white gold tends to be a bit pricier, but I'm more concerned about how the piece looks overall. Both stones have nice clarity. This pendant is 10mm and 3.5 carats. The other is 12mm and 7.5 carats. In my hand, the 7.5 carat felt a bit more substantial and the color of the larger stone was deeper. I do think the white gold is a nice design, but the heavier white gold setting and tiny diamonds almost take away from the piece. Maybe 3.5 carats of green amethyst isn't enough material to build the nice green color. It wasn't as spectacular as I expected. I was surprised because I liked the less expensive yellow gold pendant with the simple design more. The stone is nicer. I love that Overstock makes comparison shopping a breeze and returns are so simple. I'm keeping the yellow gold one; It has a simple design that doesn't detract and the stone is more stunning.

I'm very satisfied with the pendant and the gem when it was arrived to my house. However, the chain was too thin and I don't want to risk wearing it and having it break. So I took the pendant and put in my thicker chain. Looking back at the necklace and seeing the price has dropped is a little disappointing, because I paid more about a week ago with higher shipping cost, too. So if you want it, this is a good time cause the price has dropped. But all in all I'm glad I got it because it is different from any of the other necklace I have. I'm very happy with the pendant!

Diamonds are very small, probably prettier if not even there, however it's a good value and a nice size stone for a necklace.

I picked this up as a Christmas gift, hoping that it would present as beautifully as it does online. Without doubt, the pendant is gorgeous. The green of the amethyst is stunningly perfect. My only gripe about the necklace would be that the chain appears to be very thin to me. I'm not sure how it'll wear, but I'm hoping that it'll be strong. In the case that it is, I'd recommend this product. If you're buying it as a gift, you may want to purchase a gift box from your local jeweler. It'll show much better that way as far as appearance goes when gift giving. Otherwise, it'll arrive in an Overstock, red square box.
