The picture does not do this piece justice, as when it arrived I was very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this locket is. The finish is so pretty and shiny and the chain has a beautiful shine as well. The hearts on the finish are very tasteful and really add to the piece. It is tiny...but still I was able to put in the photos (I had them made at a photo shop). My young niece loved it! The chain is very delicate but seems to be well-made. Time will tell how it holds up to a wear with a teenager. However, I think she wears this for Sundays and special occasions so should do fine for that. I would order this again.

The locket was for my 10 year old granddaughter. It was the perfect size. I was disappointed in the inside of the locket. The space was framed and therefore the actual space for a picture, well there is no picture that small. I think if the opening inside was larger and not framed that would be better.
