14k Gold Cultured Freshwater Pink Pearl 3-piece Set (6-6.5 mm/ 18 in/ 7 in)

This strand is ok. It is pretty. I noticed that I paid $5.00 more for it than is listed. The catalog number changes when added to shopping cart and it adds $5.00 to the price that I didn't notice when I ordered it. It is nice, but I will stay in the (minimum) $100 range for pearl jewelry on this website as this set does not have the individual knotting between the strands and I agree with one of the other reviews that the clasp is very difficult to manage. The problem is that the roundness of the pearls and the mobility of the pearl on the strand keeps moving as you try to open the clasp. It's a bit difficult to open and then it slips and closes too easily. (Now I know why pearls normally have the fishhook clasp). Also, on the bracelet the pearls are closer to egg-shaped than to round and the earrings are not round, they look as if the round has been squashed down a bit. (But, no blemishes). The pink does have a brownish hue to it, but if wearing with pink it isn't very noticeable. It probably would be very noticeable with lavender. One final comment, I purchased the 3 piece black akoya set for $99.99 and the luster and overall quality of that set is better. Lately, I'm obsessed with pearls from this site and I prefer a little better quality over the cheap price so I will try to at least stay in the minimum around $100 range because I think the quality is better for the pricing. Overall, this set is ok and I won't go through the hassle of returning it, but as I noticed that I like the black set quality more and more as I've worn it a couple of times, the pink set is, so far, not growing on me. But, I consider it a learning experience on determining what is a reasonable price while getting a nice quality I can live with as I don't want to pay $500 right now for pearls either.
