Buyers Beware!! These pearls are not black like the picture shows, but a medium gray! I bought these as a replacement for a set I bought in the Far East, paid for 2-day shipping (it took 4 after leaving the warehouse), they were late and look like garbage. They are a medium gray, more like a dark silver. Not black in the slightest! Never again...............

The quality of the pearls and the workmanship was very poor. The pearls had numerous pits and dents. The earing post attachments did not fit.

These earrings would have been great because of the size and color. The problem was that one of them has a large groove in the surface. It isn't visible from the front but when you turn your head to the side , the groove can been seen.

When I purchased this, I only read a few of the reviews.. all of which were good of course. After I received the pearls, only to see that they were completely pitted, I went back and read all the others. I see now that there are many reviewers who have had the same issue. If you happen to get an un-pitted and matched pair, you got a great deal. if not, you just paid way too much and will now be hassled with returning them. You choose¿

These 14-kt. Black Tahitian Cultured Pearl Earrings (9-9.5 mm) were absolutely wonderful. The only slight problem was the posts were not very thick and the earring backs were very tiny, not the kind you would find on high quality pieces. The pearls were big, bold, and simply magnificent!

The quality of the pearl is not very good. They are many bumps. The surface is not real smooth. Also the color is not as dark as what's shown on the Web Page.

Horrible quality. The pearls came pitted and mismatched.

The first pearl I looked at was perfect, but the second was awful! There were several large indentations as well as a large scar through it that could be seen a mile away. Not sure who would actually consider that pearl acceptable for retail....

disappointed!! returned product twice; on both occasion, pearl was flawed with a tiny indentation.

I like these earrings, bought several years ago. Great product, and I still wear them.

Although the size is great, the color of the earrings were too green. I was looking for a "black" pearl and was disappointed with the color. They also did not come in a box...they came in a plastic bag with another bag on top. What a disappointment.

I read some of the other reviews for these earrings, but, because I have never had a negative experience with Overstock, I ordered them anyhow. I'm glad I did. I scrutinized them carefully, more than I usually would. There were a couple of tiny flaws - which, in pearls, distinguishes them from plastic beads! The size is definitely closer to 9 millimeters than 9.5, but within the range advertised. I bought these to go with a ring that retailed for $2,300. Are the earrings of exactly the same quality? Probably not, but they're darn close, and I am delighted to have bought them at such a reasonable price.

I found the product to be very beautiful and I would recommend purchasing from Overstock for anyone. The recipient was very pleased with the gift.

Since I didn't pay that much for these I'm not uptight about the fact that while they are very close in color they are not exactly a matched pair in shade and there is one tiny imperfection (pit) on one of the earrings. When they are worn they look exactly alike and the flaw cannot be seen. This pair is more silvery green-gray than black. If you know anything about Tahitians they come in all sorts of shades and they are more chrome-y black than black black. I am still really really happy about these. I bought a pair in Hawaii and I lost one so this is a replacement for those at a very reasonable price.

Absolutely Horrible quality . . . the first pair I received were very dented and different colors. I sent them back to receive a pair in worse condition -- with more dents and imperfections....sent those back FOR A REFUND.

The product was not as high a quality as the necklace my husband purchased elsewhere, however the earings look very nice and for the money, I am pleased. I would recommend them.

These pearls are beutiful. My wife loves them. For the price they can not be beat. And even at a higher price you would be hard pressed to top the quality. Thank you Overstock!!

I read the reviews of this product and finally decided to order even though some reviews were very negative. The first set I received were pretty bad. One earring had a big dimple in the end and the othere was significantly scratched. They were not shipped in any protective packaging so that may have been the problem. However the return was relatively easy and the replacement set is very nice. Its just too bad I had to go through the grief of the return and the worry of getting the replacement set before the holiday. Now all is well.
