We purchased these pearls for our daughter who will be celebrating her 21st birthday. My husband ( a machinist who has an eye for detail) inspected the pearls and found that they were satisfactory for his inspection. As a mother, I think they'll look great! Very nice looking pearls. A good, strong string as described in the write-up. Pearls appear uniform in size and color. Good shape overall, though they are clearly natural pearls. The clasp is very nice as well. It's easy to work with and looks very classy. Only one thing is missing: there is no certificate or anything to verify that these are Akoya pearls.

after alot of research i decided on this pearl necklace..paid BIG bucks to get it quickly...it's beautiful and well worth the money.HOWEVER!!...although i think the fish hook clasp is pretty typical on this range of necklace, mine literally came undone after wearing it 8 hours...i felt it come loose around my neck and reached in the back to feel the clasp and the string had come undone from the clasp & thank god i had on a sweater with a high enough collar that it couldn't go anywhere. I carefully pulled off the necklace and had a few pearls that slid off the string and landed on the floor..i do think i got all the pearls as they rolled around on the floor. Upon closer exam i saw that although 3/4 of this necklace is knotted it IS not knotted all the way around and the string is extrememly thin and fragile. I love it so much that I am calling my jeweler today to find out the cost of restringing it and if it's too much i will return this necklace and buy one with a more secure clasp!!

Although I'm not a perl expert and we have not had a chance to get this appraised, my wife was very happy with these perls. I did not see many pits as other have stated, and the color along with size of perls were that of the photo on the web site. We are very satisfied with the perls and I was very pleased with the pirce.
