I bought this necklace for my girlfriend. She loves the frog design> The chain is very strong. The clasp is also sound. Its a fun design to wear on cassual outings. She wears it all the time. I would buy this brand again in a heartbeat.

I agree with other reviewers that the gold colors seem washed out a bit on this frog, but within a reasonable distance, they certainly do not disappear and become too overpowered by the silver. I disagree with others about the sturdiness of the pendant and chain, however. The chain is solid sterling silver rope, and quite sturdy, and typical of this quality of jewelry, I was expecting something of a much smaller diameter when reading other reader's comments, but I have a feeling they are used to much thicker, silver-plated chains. My only complaint is that it is *extremely* difficult to insert a reasonable sized jump ring into this chain to shorten it-I am a petite person and the frog disappears into even a reasonably low-cut shirt with the excess length of chain. I was concerned that the frog would be hollow beneath due to others' comments about the fragility of the pendant but was pleased to see that wasn't so. In fact, the frog is quite solid and has very good biological 3-D dimensions as compared to other frog pendants. I own black hills jewelry that is far more fragile than this, and the only way I can see that frog snapping off the bail is if the wearer constantly handles it and tries to twist and bend it with their fingers (I am actually prone to doing this, so maybe this wasn't the wisest purchase^_^;;), however if you don't have this bad habit, I don't see you having any problems. I feel like this pendant/bail is much more sensitive to twisting than bending. It's a big, long pendant and quite substantial so it can be very tempting to the fidgety!! The frog is stamped .925 on the bottom which is reassuring, and is quite bright and beautiful. I have yet to have my black hills silver tarnish on me, but I think once this starts tarnish it will be even *more* beautiful, although I wonder how many years that will be with normal wear<:|. PROs: Solid; One of the best designs for biological accuracy; Gold colors are not too washed out CONs: BIG; chain is LONG; If you handle pendants as a nervous habit (like me) you'll need to be more careful, especially since the substantial size is a constant reminder that it's there, and ready to be played with!

I ordered this as a gift for a friend who collects frog items. It was very lovely and well made. My friend was stunned by it.

This was a gift, and the wearer loved it, until it started changing colors. I don't know if it was the chain or what have you, but the last time I saw the necklace/pendant something was blackish. Granted, she swam & bathed in it for months before any of that happened. So if your going to use this once in awhile, its okay, just be sure NOT to swim/bathe regularly with it on, and cancel your running through the sprinklers in the summertime with this one on, as well.

I bought this as a gift for a frog-lover. It's mostly silver with very little gold on it. The same item is also available in gold with a little silver on it--but the price is much higher, of course. It is probably more striking in the gold, however. The frog's dangly legs need careful handling or they could break off. But a unique piece and very cute.

My wife loved this gift and has shown it off to her friends at work. Read the other responses and told my wife to be careful due to it being fragile. The workmanship was 4 stars due to it does look like the frog is going to fall off, my suggestion would be to put the frog more on the leaf then have it hanging on it; maybe a lilly pad, the chain could go through the bottom of the lilly pay and have the frog on top of it would work (I am only guessing, since I am not a jeweler).

I got the necklace for Christmas, it was really pretty. After about 2 weeks the frog broke off from the leaves. I was not happy at all.

Purchased item for a last minute Christmas present and it arrived 2 days after Christmas. No problem, receiver loved frog and wore it every day for almost 6 months. Never in water (shower or swimming) or to bed. Went to put on and pendant fell apart like the silver foot rotted off the Black Hills gold leaves. Am going to see if it can be repaired by soldering. My recommendation, buy the extended coverage.

The necklace is so cute...I bought it for my sister who is an avid frog collector and she absolutely loved it. You do have to be somewhat careful with it though the pendant could be snapped where it is connected to the slide. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that loves frogs or black hills gold, just don't wear it to bed.

the frog its self was very nicely done but I had to replace the chain within 6 hours of wearing it. I was very dissapointed. It was to much of a hassle to return the whole thing so I bought a new chain, so the value was lost, but at least I did not have to wait several weeks to wear it.

My mom loved this necklace, unfortunately her house was broken into shortly after she got it and it was stolen along with many other things. However she liked it so much that she is going to replace it as soon as she can.

Bought this for my mother in law who collects the Kitty's Critter's Frogs-this looks very similar in shape to their elongated legs and webby fingers-I love that the Black Hills Gold is integrated into it. She loved it!!!
