10k Yellow Gold Amethyst Solitaire Ring

The stone is so pale in color that it barely bespeaks of amethyst..the band is ultra thin and hollowed out on the inside forboding short term wearability. certainly not worth it's weight in gold !!! I am in fact going to have it checked out to see if it really is gold!...I have had many good experiences with Overstock ..but this one is hardly worth the one star!!Shame on you Overstock!!

I bought this ring for my mom for her 68th birthday. I'm always leary of giving her jewelry because it never seems to be good enough. I gave this to her yesterday and I am happy to say that she loves it (she is not afraid to tell me when she does not like what I give her). She kept asking me if the stone was real....Yes mom. Then she asked if it was real gold....Yes mom. The entire ring is real, mom. :o) I don't know if the ring fits true to size because it has been so hot around here lately that my mom's fingers are swollen from the heat. She wears a 6 where I wear a 5. From what I could tell by putting the ring on my finger....it was the correct size. But for the truth, we will have to just wait and see. She was pretty bummed that she did not get to wear it out to dinner. The ring looks exactly as this picture looks. The stone is not too small and not too big. The ring is very simple and petite. I told my mom it has such a delicate look to it and she agreed.
