As described
Got these small hoops to replace my silver ones, which I had to constantly polish because of tarnishing. The hoops are as described, 16-mm or 0.6-inches in diameter, and fairly thin. The post is not hinged, so you have to twist the hoop a bit in order to get the post into the hole. I put them in a month ago and haven't had to think about then since then.

Broke in 2 days
I bought 2 pair of these... one in 16mm and one in 11mm for my first and second ear piercings. The 16mm pair broke in 2 days. The post completely came out and I never did find it. I'm still wearing the smaller pair. I decided to try one more set - but went with the 13mm instead of the 16 and I should have them in a few days. Not sure why the larger ones were so poor quality. I didn't return them or call anyone because it just wasn't worth my time. I'll try the smaller 13mm size and see if they are any better.
