I bought this necklace and the matching earrings (which I believe have now sold out) for my mom as part of her and my father's 43 wedding anniversary gifts. I am a 37 year-old and only wear silver or white gold but my mother is 63 and only wears yellow gold. She has a few other pieces of garnet jewelry and likes the look, so I thought this necklace would be nice. We have not had the anniversary party yet, so I tried the earrings and necklace on in order to leave reviews. I believe they are pretty and as described except for the fact that the diamonds are more defined and noticeable in the picture than they are in person. The potential buyer cannot see the back of the pendant because only a front view is shown. The garnet actually sits in a gold filigree patterned base which is very attractive but so deep it causes the garnet to sit far away from the skin. This makes the stone part much heavier than the rest of the pendant, causing it to flip over with every movement. I noticed this immediately and believe it will be a problem for my mother. I will let her try it and if need be take it to a jeweler to see how much it will cost to cut off some of the base. :-( Anyway, given the cost of gold, garnet and diamond jewelry, this seems to be a good price and it really is a lovely design minus the above mentioned flaw. Overstock actually reduced the price by over $20 after I made the purchase. I called within 10 days and they credited my account which was very nice of them! I am giving this purchase a 4-star rating and marked that I would not recommend it to a friend because of the fact it keeps flipping over which would personally drive me crazy!

Not happy with the chain, the pendent is beautifull but really wish the chain was thicker, it is to thin for the pendent.
