Really was a little apprehensive about buying the rug as I usually go 'name brand' on my sisals/jute, i.e., from ***** or *****.... BUT...this rug is GREAT! Just as nice quality, if not better...the rug pad is actually part of the rug, so I can eliminate the need for a rug pad. SUPER!
This is a fabulous rug. It is a rich color and soft enough to walk on barefoot. The only downside is that when the rug arrived it smelled unbelievably awful. I had to leave it outside for 2 days and even then it smelled a little when I brought it in. Now I have had it for more that 6 months and it is a great rug and a great value.

This rug is much better quality than I anticipated. I wanted a rug with some "texture" for my dining room and it really adds some "pop" to the room. I am pleasantly surprised at how heavy (or maybe I should say thick) it is. The price is definitely great for such a rug.

I ordered this carpet for under my kitchen table and it looked fantastic. My kitchen has a caribbean theme, so it was perfect. This carpet has no odor and roll's out perfectly. My big problem was when my dog had an accident. I found that liquid of any kind soak's right into the carpet and does not blot up. I cleaned the area and it look's as if I bleached the stain. I used mild soap and water. So, this is a wonderful carpet as long as nothing get's spilled on it as it does not clean well. I removed it from the kitchen and put it into the sun room with a piece of furniture on top of the stain to hide it. Bottom line, if you think there is a chance that something might spill I would pass on this.

We bought two of these rugs and in only within a few months the borders were dirty and impossible to clean, and the corners on both rugs rolled up. We tried taping them down numerous times along with various other solutions, but it would not lay flat. Yes, it's an inexpensive rug, but not a good investment at all. I have already replaced both rugs (in less than 8 months) because I don't want someone tripping on the corners, and it just looks bad when it won't lay flat. Don't waster your money on this.
This was intended as a replacement for an area rug purchased at Overstock that unfortunately got ruined when stain was spilled allover it. This rug is too thin, has dark black lines through it, and will be going back.
Got this rug as a replacement to a sisal rug that I had under my dining room table. Definitely, not very good quality. It is very rough. You don't want to walk on it in bare feet. Also, it is not woven properly. Fibers "stick up" all through the rug. I had to trim with scissors a lot of the fibers that were sticking up or it would have looked and felt really bad. Didn't do it all because it was getting ridiculous - I would have been there all day. Didn't return it because most of the rug is covered by my table and I didn't want the hassle. Will never buy a rug from Overstock again because both rugs I purchased were poor quality.
I got this rug for under the table in my patio.Well we had a lot of rain this Spring and our patio flooded and a water stain or mark showed up on the rug. Tried cleaning with soap and water but it did not help. Got on line to see if their were any subjections, there were , all saying to not get a lot of water on this rug!!! Why was this sold as a indoor/outdoor rug? Now I am stuck with a big stain in a beautiful patio room!! Hate it!!!!!!!111111111

Please tell us about the quality of the product. the write up "easy to clean" but that just meant to sweep dirt off rug, not if you get any stains.
Hello lgallof, we appreciate your inquiry. Both of them will carry a natural appearance with them as they are extracted from organic plants. So if you are just looking for natural element, you can choose any of jute or sisal designs. However, there are certain characteristics about both of these materials that you should know about. While jute rugs carry their brown appearance, sisal rugs are off-white or cream-colored. Once the weaving process of jute rugs is complete, they give a unique appearance. Each piece may look distinctly different after completion. Jute floor coverings are made up of smooth and soft natural fibers. These natural fibers also have a waxy sheen that looks a lot like flax or hemp. These natural fibers also have a waxy sheen that looks a lot like flax or hemp. On the other hand, sisal will give you a textured yarn touch. Jute rugs are highly durable as compared to several other rugs made up of synthetic fibers. However, they don't last very long in heavy foot traffic areas. It is better to choose these rugs for bedrooms and dining rooms where foot traffic is a bit lower. As far as entry hallways and living rooms in your house are concerned, sisal rugs may be more suitable. We hope this information has been helpful. Thank you for shopping with us. The materials said sisal and cotton, but when the rug arrived it has a "non skid" bottom that has a smell (glue, rubber, I'm not sure what). This material should be included in the list of materials, but it was not. I am airing it out to see if I can get the smell to clear, but am frustrated that it was not listed in the description.courtenayr on Feb 8, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I'm sorry for your frustration. Thank you for letting the other customers know this information. overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 11, 2013
I agree, it should be listed in the description. We have purchased two of these rugs and we liked the fact that it had a rubber backing. For that reason we didn't see a need for a carpet pad. The smell quickly goes away after 3-5 days. Give it time.bagwell1 on Apr 4, 2013
the smell is the sisal not the glue on the bottom. it will dissipate over time.jazmyn05 on Jun 10, 2013
I noted that you said it could be wiped clean only. Can it be professionally cleaned?shenders on Jan 18, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Yes this can be professionally cleaned.
Vacuum the rug weekly, vacuuming the underside, too, if possible. Professional cleaners should only use a dry extraction process, not steam or shampoo, on the rug. Blot spills immediately with a clean towel.
