I received this two weeks ago. I got this as a gift for my mother and sister for christmas. It,s just whatI was looking for. It has all the features and the price was great. I`m sure my mother and sister willlove it.

We just moved to a new house, and why is it that the trash can is my favorite feature? It just makes me smile everytime that I need to throw something away. I was only able to give it 4 stars for durability, because it is less than a week old, so I really have no idea how durable it will be. I would say, that if you are ordering this item to make sure that you have 4 "D" batteries on hand for when it arrives, because when you get it, you will want to start using it right away.Thanks to everyone who took the time to review this trash can before me. It is because of your resounding approvals that I was able to trust making a purchase online without seeing the product first.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

This trashcan is super - the motion sensor detects movement at about two inches, so we never have to touch the can or lid itself. Movement is smooth and quiet, and the open/close buttons (for when we need to keep the can open, or don't want it opening whenever it senses movement, like if our kids are running around) are easily accessed and flush with the surface of the lid, making the occasional cleanup easy...My only complaint is that the ring that holds the bag in place isn't easy to remove when the bag is full, so you do have to reach down about an inch into the bag. Otherwise, it's a fun product!

This is our second touchless garbage can. It was a dream come true for my husband when we found one of these at a store about 2 years ago. He always despised having to open the lid of the garbage can with one hand as he tossed stuff in with the other. He always complained that he wanted a touch free can. So this can was exactly what he wanted.When we saw this can advertised at Overstock, we quickly bought another one. Surprisingly, this can is much quieter than our original can and a lot less sensitive. The first one we owned opened up every time we walked by, but this one waits until you truly need to throw something away before it opens wide. It is a bit shorter than our old can, but a tad wider so it still takes a 13 gallon kitchen bag as before. I like the sleek narrow look to the can.Admittedly, our old can broke after about 2 years on the job. We just couldn't do without it so we bought another one. We had only changed the batteries once, and that was quite recently. Why did it break? Not entirely sure.... One thing you will notice is that little kids will be so mesmerized by the can, that they wil automatically try pushing down on the lid to shut it. I definitely think that is a No-No and may help to weaken the lid. I'm assuming that is what eventually did mine in. I highly recommend this product. We were so pleased with our original that we bought a second one.

I received my new trash can on Friday October 23, 2009. It arrived just in time for a dinner party that I was having. It made a BIG hit!I love it, I love it, I love it! Also, my husband really likes it too! He thinks I am a little 'over the top' with the gadgets, but really likes this one!Mine didn't have any dents. It was packed so tight in the styrofoam, I don't see how it could get dented, unless the whole box was destroyed! It was easy to assemble, if you can call putting 4 size D batteries in the lid battery compartment & putting the bag around the plastic ring & putting the ring inside of the trash can & turning on the 'ON' button. It looks great! I love the fact that the bag fits inside of the can & you don't have an ugly bag hanging outside of the can.Other reviewers complained about the can being too short. It is actually the exact same height as my previous trash can. Also, others had complained that when you walk by it, the lid opens. I have mine in a high traffic area, and only once did it open when I didn't want it to, that was when I was standing directly in front of it, and right next to it. Other than that it hasn't just opened from walking past it.My only concern, and it has nothing to do with the trash can, is that I will have to watch who changes the bag because all of the electrical components are in the lid, and the lid should not be dropped! So, I will have to monitor who changes the bag :-)I love it, and would recommend it to anybody!

good words out there.So far only good things about this trash can. It's motion-sensor and IT WORKS every time we want it to work. I have tried every feature of it and everything works just fine. Requires 4 D Batteries and i heard that they last for ages, have yet to see it though. Kids (6, 4, 3) just love it and found it so fun to play with initially, but now it's just a part of their lives, meaning no more standing in front of it watching it in amazement while the lid goes up and down with just a wave of hand. The size is just perfect for a family of five if you are taking the trash out every night. Taking the trash out of the can isn't that bad either, just a couple of extra things you would have to do, over regular trash can, which is a no hassle if compared to the look and quality that you are getting. Cleaning is a breeze, just a damp paper towel and you are good to go.Very pleased with my purchase. Price, quality, and look make it one of the best purchases i have made so far. Highly recommend it.

We bought two, one for trash and one for recycling. They look great in the kitchen and they are working really well. We haven't had any problems with them at all. Ours arrived perfectly, no dents or dings. The dog hasn't figured out how to use them either or attempted to tip them, which she's been known to do. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a touchless trash can.

Not only is this trash can easy to use and clean it is agreat little ice breaker at parties. It tries to bite what ever is closest when someone walks by. I love it.

I'm not sure why I feel the need to add my voice to the 400+ other glowing reviews, but I do love this trash can and think it was an amazing bargain. If you compare it to other stainless cans being sold at hardware and home stores, you will be amazed that you can get such a nice trash can for this low price, especially since most of the other, more expensive cans don't even have the motion-sensing feature. I love the hands-free aspect of it - it almost never opens as I walk past, even when I walk quite close to it, but it opens very quickly whenever I need to throw something away. It's so nice to be able to throw away things like the styrofoam packages raw chicken comes in without having to contaminate the trash lid by touching it. Love it!

I have had my Touchless trash can for 2 years and just love it. Decided to buy one for my parents and they love it too. Have experienced no problems and enjoy the hands free action.

This is the best trash can that I have ever owned. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is because the automatic feature is very sensative and sometimes when we walk past the can, the lid opens. I would suggest putting it in an area that does not have high traffic. Unfortunately, I do no have such an area available. Also keep in mind that it is stainless steel and has to be cleaned along with any other stainless steel products you own.

I AM FROM CALHOUN, GA, AND MY PURCHASE WAS AN EXACT REPLACEMENT. THE PREVIOUS ONE BROKE; AND I AM NOT SURE WHETHER IT WAS MY FAULT OR THE PRODUCTS FAULT. WE HAVE ONE IN OUR HOUSE; AND THIS PARTICULAR ONE IS USED IN OUR MOTOR HOME. BEING MOTION SENSORED, IT IS SO HANDY AND I DON'T THINK WE'LL EVER HAVE A MANUAL ONE AGAIN.
