I LOVE this product!!! no batteries( unless you want to) just awave of your hand it opens then closes no touching!! Love the way the liner is hidden with no hassel!Everyone should have one or two, great price(I did my research)wonderful!!
I think the idea is better than the actual product. It is VERY skinny. You have to have good aim to dump a dust pan. Every time you walk past it, it opens. But when you want to throw something away, you have to wave your hand in front of the sensor. The bag constantly falls down into the can. I could go on and on. The bottom line is, this is not a necessity nor is it convenient. The only good thing about this trash can is the "cool factor". Everybody that sees it wants to play with it. It's cool to say you have one but it's a pain to actually own it!
It's good looking and when it works the way it should, this is a very nice trash can. However, it can and will for no reason open and shut for HOURS on its own. I think I've figured out how to stop it, but I cannot figure out how to prevent it. KInd of a pain that way. If it helps you with your decision, I am still keeping it because it does look nice for an exposed trash can.
We loved this trash can. It wasn't so sensitive that it opened when you walked by. We were willing to live with the sometimes hassle of getting the bags out without ripping them. But it has quit working after about 1 year. But since it is the only trash can we have found that defeated our dogs, we will buy another.
There was nothing great about this trashcan. After the novelty ofthe automatic can wore off, I just kept getting annoyed with it. It doesn't stay open long enough to clear a plate into. It is smaller than I was expecting. We ended up switching back to our old garbage can after four months.
We love this trash can and the price was excellent. Many of the touchless cans run on batteries and I could see what a pain it would be to have to replace batteries at the least convenient time. So nice to have this one plugged in and working with no worries. We used to have an open can-- couldn't take the smell and my toddler had way too easy a time throwing away our stuff. This is much better.
The lids break and then you are done as they cannot be repaired. The first one lasted awhile and it was pretty reliable, eventually the lid broke. There is a small spring made out of cheap wire that eventually breaks off. The second one had the same problem but it took just over a year for the lid to break. This one was true garbage ( no pun intended ) as it didn't make it a year. My dilemma is should I go through the manufacturers warrantee or just throw it out. Save your money on these problematic garbage pailes. They are a conversation piece but ultimately a piece of junk!
This trash can is actually pretty nice. I love the fact that it comes with an AC adaptor and I don't need to be buying batteries all the time. The only bad thing is that the sensor is kind of slow detecting, you have to wait a few secs before it opens... other than that it's cute.
