I got the bread machine last week and already made three whole wheat loafs in it. Each time, the bread turned out perfect. One loaf makes 6-8 slices of bread, depending on how thin you slice it. I used to have a bread machine that would make huge loafs that lasted a few days and would go stale quickly. This small bread is gone in a day, so it doesn't have time to go stale. The only recipe I tried (whole wheat) is perfect. It takes 3-5 minutes to measure and put the ingredients in the machine. I put the bread maker on a timer and wake up to an amazingly smelling house.
I am not much of a baker, but fresh bread seemed like a great idea, so I purchased the Zojirushi BB-HAC10. I don't like to spend a lot of time preparing food, making this machine a great match. For basic bread, it takes 5-10 total minutes to retrieve my ingredients and add them to the baking pan. 3.5-13 hours later, fresh warm bread is ready for eating. After a 5-minute cleanup, the machine is ready for another loaf. It's a bit on the pricey side at $$$, but I find good value in the home bakery. I am also impressed with the quality of the breads and cakes the machine produces. I have tweaked the quantity of certain ingredients to adjust flavor, but the texture is always perfect.
