Block darker than pictured, but great set overall!
The knives themselves are awesome. All of them arrived very sharp and with no chips. Arrived very fast as well. My only complaint is that, as another reviewer mentioned, the block s much darker than the one pictured. The advertised block is a light natural stain which would match my cabinets, where the actual block is a dark cherry color. Don't get me wrong, its an absolutely beautiful set and I'm definitely keeping it, I just wish there was an accurate photo or a color choice of the block. The block does come in natural, cherry and walnut from the manufacturer, so I'm not sure if it is luck of the draw. Awesome set though and shipping was FAST as always, which is a continued reason I buy from Overstock. Impressed yet again.

Great Knives!
I've had my eyes on these knives for a long time. Overstock.com had a great deal on them, so I thought I'd check them out. They are everything I imagined. My previous knife set were Miracle Blades, and trust me, they do dull. These knives were an excellent addition to the kitchen and are used frequently. What I like most about them is the feel. They are perfectly weighted and balanced in your hand. It really makes a difference, especially when cutting up a lot of items at a time. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

BEST KNIVES I HAVE EVER OWNED
These are definitely the best knives I have used. As another customer said, the block is a darker brown than shown but I can live with it or transfer it to another block.

I am writing this prematurely since I haven't even tried the knives (which are the most important part of this purchase), but I was disappointed to discover a dark wood storage block upon opening. The Overstock description doesn't address the color of the block, so one would assume to expect the same color as pictured on the website. It's disappointing that such a nice investment doesn't even match my kitchen decor. Live and learn!

Love the knives and Overstock beat all online prices for this item. One problem people should be aware of; the sharpner (or steel) is not from the Classic Ikon line. It is one of the cheaper (not german made) models that retails for ***.
