I'd like to hang this on a vinyl sided house. It currently has a 6" x 6" box built in. Will this fit flush with the box or will I need to purchase some type of adapter or backer plate?

It depends on how deep the cut out is. This lantern is 19 inches high x 10 inches wide x 7 inches deep.
