  • GINORMOUS

    We have 10 foot ceilings so I thought the lantern would work well in our living room. I was wrong. The lamp is much, much bigger than I anticipated. The lantern would work well in a large entry space with very high ceilings .. or any very large space. Seems like a great deal for what you get, but unfortunately I will be sending it back!

    • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? I didn't fuly unwrap it, but as far as I can tell it looks just like the picture
    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. I can't speak to that
    • How accurate was the on site description of the product? It was accurate but it's hard to grasp the scale of the light without any pictures of it in a room

  • Simple and lightweight at a grand scale

    We were searching for a minimal-dust-collecting light fixture with simple lines for our foyer with a 20-25 foot high ceiling . This definitely fits the bill. Considering the pendant is 3ft high, it is surprisingly lightweight. I didn't care much for the leaf design on the top corners, but with the pendant hanging so high, no one will really notice that or the quality (i.e. it is lightweight; I imagine if this was made of real wrought iron, it would weigh at least 10 lbs!) We had a painter help install the fixture as they had a ladder tall enough for the high ceiling.

    • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The candelabra-part of the light fixture came in two colors you can pick from before installing 1. black (as pictured) 2. wax-yellow (not mentioned). The latter would give it more of warm "natural" candle feel. Otherwise, the rest of the fixture is black matte (iron-like) including the chain.
    • How accurate was the on site description of the product? The chain is actually 10 feet long, not 10 inches; and the wire is 12 feet long, not 12 inches.
    • Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

  • Perfect Pendant!

    I am very pleased with this light! It is perfect for my two-story entry. It looks like heavy wrought-iron, but it is lightweight and easy to handle. It was easily installed as well. I looked around online for quite some time to find a light to replace the old, brassy, upside-down punch bowl-type light that we had in the entry (it was a dust catcher!), and I'm glad I finally found this light on Overstock.

  • Great scale but simple

    If you have high ceilings where a dinky fixture would look out of scale, this simple and elegant lantern-type fixture would be great. My room is not huge, so I chose this so as not to overwhelm the room. Because it is simple, I think it will stand the test of time without looking outdated, and it will work in many types of decor schemes. I'm very happy.

    I am happy with the product, but took a gamble as the description is totally inadequate, no width size , no length size , and the quality of the picture is pretty well black and white for all items, with a little variation here and there.

Thanks, but this doesn't tell me the depth of the canopy - only the diameter, I believe. I really need to know the depth because I have an old house with the original gas lamp pipes coming down from the ceiling. han001 on Jan 28, 2013
 
We contacted the manufacturer again regarding the issue they responded with : After consulting with World import, they do not have a measurement for “deepness.” All dimensions are as listed below.
