I thought I'd give electric pressure cooking a whirl, and boy-oh-boy am I glad I lucked out and found this refurbished model on Overstock.com. Love, love, love it. Makes PERFECT rice, every time, no matter what, in 6 minutes! Pot roast, beef stew, pulled pork, chicken, beef stroganoff, green chile stew - all huge successes with the husband and kids! Easy to use, great safety features - like the lid will NOT open if there is still steam pressure (that is easy to release via the valve). Some people claim that they have problems with the settings of "rice", "meat", "veggies", etc vs. the typical high, medium and low......but I just set the setting to what I have the most of in the pot - usually meat - and everything I've used it for (2 dozen times in 3-4 weeks) has turned out to be perfection. A few people on other sites have complained about getting an error message after a while and it appears to be due to a faulty seal. I went over to wphousewares.com and ordered an extra seal gasket for $11. So I hope I can avoid that problem if it arises. All the other parts are very sturdy and do not look like they will wear out any time soon! Pressure Cooker recipe books can be picked up on xxx for pennies! :)
