Winston 6-piece King Bedroom Set

FIRST I WILL SAY THE DELIVERY PROCESS WAS FANTASTIC. TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THIS 6 PIECE KING SET WE WERE CONTACTED BY THE 3RD PARTY DELIVERY COMPANY TO SET UP A DELIVERY TIME. WE PICKED THE DATE AND THEY GAVE US A 10-2 WINDOW. THE GUYS ARRIVED 5 MINUTES BEFORE 10. THEY SET EVERYTHING UP AND TOOK AWAY THE BOXES/PACKAGING. THEY WERE QUICK AND TIDY. UNFORTUNATELY THE SET DOES NOT LIVE UP TO MY EXPECTATIONS. THE COLOR IS BEAUTIFUL - A TRUE ESPRESSO COLOR. THE DRAWERS HAVE A DEPTH OF 17 INCHES (I.E. 17 INCHES OUT FROM THE WALL). MOST STANDARD DRESSERS AND CHESTS HAVE A DEPTH OF 19-20 INCHES. WE WERE REPLACING 2 CHESTS WHICH CONSISTED OF 8 DRAWERS COMBINED. THIS SET GAVE US 11 DRAWERS. YET, I HAD 2 DRAWERS OF CLOTHES THAT DIDN'T FIT!!!! THE DRAWERS DO NOT SLIDE AS EASILY AS THE SET WE WERE REPLACING. I LOOKED AT THE GLIDES TO SEE IF WAXING THEM DOWN WOULD HELP AND ALL I COULD SEE WAS DRIED STRINGS OF GLUE EVERYWHERE. WHICH I WAS ACTUALLY RELIEVED TO FIND OUT WAS NOT MY HAIR THAT I JUST HAD HIGHLIGHTED :0) ONE OF THE DRAWERS WAS DEFECTIVE, BUT OVERSTOCK HAD A REPLACEMENT DRAWER DELIVERED TO ME WITHIN A WEEK OF CALLING THEM. THE OTHER DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE BED. IT HAS AN 8 SLAT SYSTEM. THEY BED WE REPLACED HAD A 12 SLAT SYSTEM. THE 4 LESS SLATS MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE LACK OF SUPPORT FOR THE MATTRESS! WE ARE NOW TRYING TO FIND AND PURCHASE A PROFILE BOX SPRING SO WE CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT. THE OTHER DINGER - YOU CANNOT ADJUST THE HEIGHT FOR THE MATTRESS. OUR OTHER BED HAD 4 DIFFERENT HEIGHTS TO ACCOMMODATE DIFFERENT MATTRESS DEPTHS. THIS BED ONLY HAS ONE AND IT IS LOW! WHEN CONSIDERING PURCHASING THIS SET YOU HAVE TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE PRICE. WE WERE REPLACING OUR LIGHT MAPLE ***** VENDOME SET. WE LOVED THAT SET, BUT AFTER 11 YEARS THE LIGHT COLOR JUST DIDN'T GO WITH ANYTHING ANYMORE. HOWEVER, TO PURCHASE THE SAME NUMBER OF VENDOME PIECES IN THE ESPRESSO COLOR AS THE WINSTON SET IT WOULD HAVE COST US $3,697 NOT INCLUDING TAX OR DELIVERY AND MINUS THE MIRROR. FOR THE MONEY WE ARE KEEPING THE SET. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT ***** FURNITURE, BUT IT IS NOT AS GOOD AS OUR ***** FURNITURE. HOPE THAT HELPS!

This is really a wonderful set! It is absolutely beautiful. Not to mention that the white glove delivery is so cool. They came in set up the entire set and were totally professional and really nice. I'm super happy with this purchase!

Not sure how useful this review will be now that the item is out of stock, but ah well. Decided to splurge based on my fiance's urge to have nice furniture :P It cost a lot but I do like it. The delivery guys did a great job and kept in touch with me throughout the process to let me know when they'd be here to set things up. They were very friendly and did a good job. Excellent communication and service. The shelf capacity of the dresser and chest is a little bit less than what I had imagined. Also, it seems I can't completely remove the drawers from the chest, dresser or nightstand. This would have been nice. Especially if I ever need to move in the future. One other concern I had is regarding the mirror - unless I'm not looking hard enough, it doesn't seem like it is wall-mount friendly. Of course, I'm not sure how many mirrors are supposed to be designed with this in mind. I guess you can always make it wall-mountable if you want to :) The finish was good overall but does have some noticeably dull spots. One of the night stands had a small indentation (like a pen line from someone not putting a mat underneath when writing). Of course, this may have been done during the setup but it's no biggie. Maybe I'm just being extremely picky here :P The bed itself is nice. I do worry a tad about the support but it seems like it should hold up. The slats didn't seem to be made of the strongest pieces of wood. It's sort of a pain having a center peg for each slat as well. If we ever need to move it's going to be a pain disassembling. In terms of even slightly moving the bed around, it may end up being a pain. The space from the floor to the side rails was less than expected. Sort of a minor thing, but I was hoping I could store my guitars under the bed - most of mine won't clear. I've thought about raising the bed with extra shims of wood but if I do that I'll also have to shim the pegs for all 12 or so support slats. The set is great, don't get me wrong, and I'm sure it will work out well. But it's just the details that kinda got to me.

The Winston furniture is excellent. The quality is great, especially for the price. We love the espresso color. The handles are a bit modern and took me about a week to get used to, but it still looks great on the furniture. This definitely tranformed our room from dull to a relaxing sanctuary. We love it and would definitely order it again! The delivery service was great too, they were very polite and quick. They called us to let us know they'd be here about 5 hours earlier than anticipated but we welcomed the early arrival and they set it up within about 20 minutes. I'd highly recommend this furniture to anyone. Happy shopping!
