Love it, love it, love it

copperhead78 from Palmer Lake, CO, Oct 30, 2009

I had a little trouble installing it because the instructions neglected to mention a few things.IMPORTANT: If you already have a mounting plate with nipple in your ceiling, don't assume that you can use that. The nipple that comes with the light is longer than the one I already had and it is necessary to use the longer nipple to be able to screw the light onto it. So I had it ready to roll and then realized I needed the one that came with the light.ALSO: You need to thread the electrical wire and grounding wire THROUGH the nipple before connecting to the wires in the ceiling. Use electrical tape to cover the wire nuts and any exposed copper wire.As a 49 yr old woman, the chain links were very hard for me to open. I ended up using 1 pair of pliers inserted into the link, then pulled the pliers apart as hard as I could. Close enough. The chain is made up of a regular link alternated by a decorative link that cannot be opened. The decorative link is about 3 inches long. So if you hang it from the next link, you may have changed the height by 3 inches instead of just 1 inch. It turned out not to be a big deal for me, but I just thought I'd mention it.If you're going to use a swag because the ceiling outlet is not where you want the light to hang, make sure to hang the swag hook first IN A STUD, then you can cut the wires to the correct length to get to the outlet. Just leave a little extra so you don't cut it too short.I think if the instructions had a been a little more clear, it would have been easier for me to get it hung. However, now that it is up, I absolutely love it, It is beautiful and looks great in the room.Hope this helps!

Very nice light

ma2brill from Kokomo, IN, Aug 27, 2009

I really like this light. I did a lot of searching online and found this for the best price. I think it looks really beautiful, although my husband who installed it, thought it was made a little cheaply. Can't tell from where i'm standing.
