The curtains are stylish and reduce the amount of air that escapes from/enters into the basement's sliding glass doors. Good buy for the money.

These are beautiful curtains and come with tie-backs. No light escapes from behind these curtains and the stars shine brightly. Very pretty even in black.

They are beautiful drapes! I am just hoping they will help stop the heat that is escaping from my front window. They are definately floor length and a good neutral color. I am really wishing the power company would miss me this winter, these are just one more step to reaching that goal.

Beautiful burgundy color, beautiful silky material, and they really work! Just be sure you hang them close enough to the wall on top to block out sun escaping from above these lovely drapes. Sleep well!

I just need something quick to keep temperature from escaping and it does do that. I was in search of a true bright white and they are which is great. It was inexpensive so I don't mind that they look cheap. It is just until I decide on something different anyway.

These curtain panels are an excellent buy! They filter a good amount of light and keep heat/cool from escaping through the windows. The squares are embroidered and cause the pattern to be reflected on your walls on sunny days. The material is sturdy and the stitching is well done. They look very classy and really add to the room decor. I highly recommend them.

Well, the curtains are great! They TOTALLY block out the light (except what escapes at the top of the curtain where the rod holds it away from the wall), they are soft, silky, and a great quality. The only thing I didn't like was the color. They call it chocolate, but it wasn't - it is pretty orangy. Still, I value the darkness, so I'm dealing with the color.

This was the 2nd set of drapes I purchased for this room. The first set, not from Overstock, was advertised as 'black out' curtains but they absolutely let lots of light into the room. This set, however, definitely met my expectations. There is a teeny amount of light that escapes around the sides and top but I could have minimized that by hanging them higher and extending the drapery pole. I'm thrilled with the look of the curtains, the fabric, and the huge amount of light that is blocked. Curtains are for a bedroom with a west facing window and they block 99% of the light, as advertised. The color is a rich chocolate.

The panels work well as blackout curtains if mounted correctly. They obviously need to extend a few inches beyond the sides of the windows in order to reduce the light escaping around the sides. They did a great job cutting down the light in our bedroom in the morning. The chocolate color was perfect for our room, and very accurate to the picture of the product on the website. The only drawback is the curtains are so thick, they are difficult to open with their rod pocket style. They might work better in a grommet style so they would be easier to maneuver. They will need holdbacks to help keep them open.

As I am learning is the norm with over stock, the actual color of the product ordered is more open to interpretation than I would prefer. I ordered these in Silver, and I feel they are more of a Steele color which is darker than I wanted, but will suit my needs. Also they look like they are going to feel like a stiff satin, in actuality they feel more like a water proof fabric shower curtain. I need them for a large window in my bedroom that overlooks a security gate and fire escape so they will fit my need for the price, but if you are looking for a touchable fabric these may not be what you want to invest in. I'm just hoping they loosen up a little over time.

I got those curtains in Navy and just love them! My 16 months old son's room is always bright with a lot of sunshine.I had a hard time to find something for the windows to complitely block the sun light.Well ,those curtains did the job! Yes,there are some light still escapes above the curtains,I just use dark scarf like valance to close that openning. But overall-just great! The material feels so soft, not bulky, those stars are amaizing -shine in the dark like real! I love the product! Money well spend! If those curtains were available in dark pink or burgundy colors I would buy them for my daughter's room.

I bought a couple of pair of the chocolate curtains and one maroon pair for our French doors. Our bedroom is the coldest in the house and these seem to keep some of the cold escaping from the windows. It is not as cold as it used to be. I liked them so much that I ordered another chocolate one for our sliding glass door off the bedroom. My mom and sister-in-law really liked them too and the quality. They are thick and smooth to the touch and look the same on both sides, which is really nice. No white backing on them. I might be buying more for the other bedrooms now.

I have purchase several curtains all which claimed to block light, non of which actually did. Especially the ones from Target and JCP. One set of curtains I had to purchase an extra black out liner which was a real pain because it didn't come in the exact size and shape of the curtain I had, so I ended up cutting it to fit. However this product is the real deal, good quality and does a great job of blocking out the light. I'm not sure it's 99% but that is probably because the wiindow sill sticks out and pushes the curtain out thus light escapes. But considering it's summer and doesn't get dark until very late this block out enough light so my toddlers can fall asleep. So for that, I'm thankful - great product.

I was very happy with this purchase! I ran these in the dryer for about 45 minutes fresh out of the box, which took the wrinkles out completely. The grommets ensure that these slide easily on my curtain rod, and the camel color is a nice neutral that sits quietly in the room. These feel good quality for the price, and the seams and grommets are well-sewn and secured. I'm very pleased with the quality of the curtains based on the price. They block light very well, although I'm using them in a family room and not a bedroom, so I'm not sure if they block light 100%. They do seem to block heat from escaping pretty effectively as well. Overall, not amazing, but incredibly solid, and a great buy for the price.

I bought these curtains in the chocolate color. The color is identical to the color shown in the close up view of the chocolate curtain. Mine don't seem to have quite the "sheen" that is in the photo so I'm assuming that was from the flash and not the actual fabric. The curtains are thick and completely light blocking except where they come together (if not overlapped). I didn't buy them for this purpose but I am commenting in case someone else is buying them for that reason. I received these right before the weather turned cooler and hung them straight from the package. They did have a few creases and wrinkles but those seemed to fall out within a couple of days on their own. These curtains completely block any drafts coming in from the windows and also prevent any heat from escaping out the windows. Since this is the reason I purchased them, I am quite pleased. I haven't washed and dried them yet but part of the reason I purchased these curtains over others is because they are wash and dry and not dry clean.

The curtains are very nice and look dressy (ordered beige). Although the curtains were room darkening, they were not the 'black-out' I expected of them. Rather than returning, I sewed a lining to the back (easy to do since the curtains are a flat material; all I had to do was sew the top of lining to the seaming right under the grommet.) The lining I added gave an additional depth to the darkness I wanted. Unless the curtains hug your window frame, I am not certain they will provide the insulation you might expect. My wooden curtain rod stands probably three inches off the wall which will allow cold, heat and light from the window to escape into the room from all around the curtain's outer edges. (Also, not sure if I buy into the noise reduction...'white noise' in the room is a much more effective distraction.) I would recommend these curtains, they are very nice looking. If you are happy with room darkening, but not 'black-out' then these are the curtains for you.

I desperately needed two blackout curtains for my bedroom in dark blue or navy. I confess that after reading several mixture reviews I was not very confident I would like this curtains, but for the price I decided to give it a try. Iīm very pleased with it. It does blackout my room with a little light escaping on its top and bottom. Despite that, it keeps my room extremely dark to the point that I have to really pay attention and look for the light in the bottom in order to know if is day or night outside. The curtain hanged nicely and was almost wrinkle free when taken from the package. The material of the curtains is very soft but not very rich. Some people might find them cheap, but thatīs not my case. I also like that it doesnīt have a white back lining as many blackout curtains usually do. The only problem I had was that I order two pairs and the colors are slightly different. I donīt think that many people would noticed, but I did. Anyway, this is a very good product.

I had monitored the reviews on this board for months prior to deciding to purchase the beige colored curtains for my preschooler''s room. She gets morning to noon sun, so I was hoping that it would help as well as people had said. They look beautiful and do help, but... Perhaps it's that I chose the lighter color (beige) over the darker colors (black/navy blue) but I don't think these curtains block out the light like most say. Definitely NOT 90-99% of the light. More like a good 70 to 80 %. There is a gap of light that escapes at the top where the curtain rod (bought a very simple rod that doesn't protrude at all from the wall very much - maybe 2 inches, very close to the wall) meets the curtain and there is a pretty good amount of light that comes out from the top. Don't get me wrong, they're pretty good, but not GREAT. Although I would recommend this product to others, I guess I should say that my expectations were set WAY high that it would block out almost everything (based on reviews). And for us, it just blocks out "most" stuff. Definitely better than your "average" set of thick curtains, though.
