White Maple Wardrobe with Storage Drawers

I am a 69 year old grandmother who purchased this wardrobe for my 73 year old brother who, because of health reasons, has come to live with me. It looked like the ideal item for his small room with space for hanging, folded and personal items. First of all the box weighs almost 150 pounds. My brother's comment was, "it looks like sawdust mixed with glue". Many peices were so heavy they had to be brought upstairs one at a time. There are no written directions included. The statement on the Part Description sheet that said "All you need are your two hands, a hammer, this instruction sheet and possibly a Friend" is completely misleading unless that friend is a weight lifter. When trying to assemble it we realized that some pre-drilled holes were missing and/or not properly aligned. Many of the pieces were defective. There was a bubble on the 'maple' veneer top and chips on many of the other pieces. It certainly was not worth half of the almost $$$ I paid. My friend wanted to give me half of the money and just throw it in the trash. Though tempted, I declined the offer and got the return label. According to Overstock.com, I will receive a refund MINUS the $$$ cost of return shipping. I am very 'handy' and was able to assemble the night stand I also purchased very easily. I have also purchased tables, chairs, beds, and other things from Overstock that needed assembly. This is the first item I have needed to return an item. I am anxious to see how Overstock handles my refund.
