Wellington Espresso Gel Fireplace

Shipped with two boxes - one for the Fireplace structure itself and one for the metal insert that is the fireplace. Very impressed with the quality of packing, the amount of protection placed in and around the pieces. The mantle (top piece) was damaged, but given the high quality of the packing and the good condition the box arrived in, the damage had to have been done prior to shipping. Very, very impressed with Overstock's response to the damaged item - quick to respond on customer service, representative asked a few questions, didn't push back or anything, and immediately placed an order with the warehouse to send a replacement, which arrived within a week - best service I've had with an online vendor. Unit came completely disassembled, but instructions were clear and concise. Took about 45 minutes to assemble (by myself and taking my time) using a powered screw driver. Pieces fit well together and once assembled was solid and stable. If I had a quibble, it was the decorative rocks. Instructions said to place them on each side of the logs, however the logs sit on a raised metal stand in the fireplace, and there was no room on either side. We placed the rocks behind the logs only because they came with the unit, but we really couldn't see them so not sure of the value. This is a small nit and in reality didn't detract for the overall effect. I must admit that I was pleased my wife convinced me to get the Gel fireplace vs an electric one. While the electric may provide a bit more heat to the room it's still a fake fire while the Gel provides real flames that look just like they were coming from burning logs, and the crackling make the realism all the more. There was a little bit of an order as the cans burned down at the end, but I understand that may happen the first few times. We haven't lit since, so I'll have to wait and see. Not terrible mind you, but still there. Very good quality (some real wood, some pressed board) but once assembled you'd never know. Good value for the money.
