My balloon curtains drove me crazy! I could not make them look like the picture. I followed the instructions. I took them off the window, on the rod, laid them upside down on the bed (to defy gravity) and still couldn't give them a balloon look. The workmanship was excellent, the value was great, and the instructions were probably fine. They still don't look like the photo, but I finally took them from the window again, completely loosened the strings, and used wire bread-ties to connect the little loops on the backs. I've received several compliments on them, and I've only shown one person the bread-ties.
The Wellington Damask Balloon Curtain worked out well on my glass door and windows.... Qulity is excellent. Love it! I still need to figure out how to raise it evenly then to hold it in place. Never had ballon curtains before. It looks like I might need something to secure the strings to hold it in place. But other then that I love them!!!
These curtains are a great value with quality fabric and full backing. However the little string system that comes with the curtains is extremely frustrating--it is constantly tangled and it doesn't give the curtains the right look. After reading the other reviewers comments I cut off the strings and used floral wire to pull the plastic loops together. Voila! A great look at a great price!
OMG smart minds think alike......I did the same thing, I used the wire bread ties to balloon the shades, they still are'nt quite right but I keep fixing them. each string should have had a lock on it. I had shades made and they locked on each tie. All in all the value of the fabric was worth it.
Great value but had trouble raising shade evenly.
