Weathered Bronze Entry Handle Set

This handleset looks high-end and functions perfectly so far. Only been installed for about a week & we really like it. The distressed finish really adds to the character and we love the egg shaped doorknob. It's heavier than we expected and appears to be a good quality piece. We hope the finish holds up. The handlesets for sale in the home improvement warehouse stores are much more expensive and so much less attractive & the quality just doesn't seem to be there unless you go to the higher priced ones. The ones that do compare are special order only and are offered at much higher price points $330-over $500 so this really seems to be a great buy. If this handleset holds up, we'll be quite happy. The only possible issues I would caution a prospective buyer would be that the product came without 2 of the screws which we easily remedied (used screws from previous handleset) and that the installation instructions werelacking-- just pictures. I can see how it would be confusing for a person to choose which screws go where. Use the template that comes with the handleset and you should have no trouble making it work. It took a longer time to install than we would have liked but now that's it done, we are quite pleased with it! A few reviewers said they didn't like having to move the little plate over if they had their hands full. I felt that way so I decided to try and tighten the screw so it didn't swing back and forth but the screw was already as tight as it could be. But it's manageable with just 1 hand. I just slide it to the right w/ 1 finger and stick the key in & it works just fine. I like the plate over the lock. I'd buy 1 for our back door but it's a glass door so we need a double lock deadbolt instead of the kind you can unlock with from the inside without a key. Too bad b/c I can't imagine where else we are going to find a handleset this good at this price! Buy it before it's gone is my advice!

This oil rubbed bronze handle set is exceptional! It is heavy like quality hardware should be, durable, has a nice aged, rustic patina in a finish that is found in higher quality oil rubbed bronze products. Much like iron hardware, it compliments the iron on our new door. I always wanted a door with a speakeasy and this handle sets it off. You will receive lots of compliments on this product. My husband installed it and he appreciates the quality of this set.

This handle looks good, nice and heavy, and was easy to install. The color is very rich. It comes secured in the box with heavy plastic zip ties that are hard to get off because they are so tight. I ended up scratching the handle, trying to cut the ties. The finish scratched very easily so I think that may be a problem in the long run. But, I think it will be easy to touch up to hide the wear and tear. I'm not sure if all oil-rubbed bronze type finishes scratch more easily than gold or silver. Delivery was very quick and I saved $100.00 off what our local store was selling the same type for and they needed a 2-3 week delivery time. I think this item is great for the price. Looks expensive.
