  • Great Little heater

We bought this after reading the reviews . We have a 2100 sq ft house, one level with two baths and laundry room...and of course a kitchen :) We thought that we would try it even though we thought we might still need a point of service unit later on our far bathroom. The Unit came and we were amazed how compact it is, even with the description. Installation was a little more work because our house is 70 years old and we needed new fittings, but we got it properly installed, When we turned it on and set the temperature, we ran all the taps in the house, and ALL OF THEM HAD SUSTAINED HOT WATER! We may still put in a point of use later someday, but right now we are thrilled. And we love that it did not cost $1100.00....

  • Hot Water on Demand

We had a 80 gallon hot water heater for a large family and purchased this on demand hot water heater and installed 500 gallon propane tank. The water will get hot, then cold for a minute then an endless supply of hot water. Installed this last September the tank was filled at 85% capacity now in April will still have 60% after 6 full months of operation. That equates to 100 gallons of propane. I believe the propane was $2.45 gallon so that's $245.00 or $40.83 a month. Our electrical bill has gone down considerably but we had also installed e-shield and additional insulation. I do know that this water heater has saved us a lot of money, my in laws live with us and my father in law will take 2 to 3 showers a day. They are elderly and he walks everyday 2 miles first thing then does yard work and works part time. Couldn't ask for any better in laws! I would definitely recommended this product from the Big "O"

I installed this in an in-law house behind my main house, which has a professionally installed Rinnai. This unit is comparable, though seems to have a slightly longer delay in delivering hot water. There is 8-feet between this unit and my bathroom, takes about 30-seconds to deliver hot water. NOTE ON INSTALLATION: this unit has a gas flow of 135K Btu. The 48-inch flex lines available at big-box home stores are not rated for this flow. You will need to hard-pipe 3/4-inch iron pipe or find a shorter length of flex that is rated for this gas flow. Also, unit does not include 3-way by-pass valves typically installed on tankless water heaters to allow the coils to be acid washed. Look for Webstone 3/4" Pipe Thread (unit does include adapters from 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch pipe thread). I have had some issues with the controller turning off, not sure if it's a problem with the unit, or poor power on my end. Overall, happy with this unit - it's a good buy.

This water heater was everything we expected it to be. We are very happy with it and it will be nice not to have to worry about running out of hot water again!

  • Eccotemp tankless water heater

I didn't find this outdoor tankless heater that easy to install. In fact, I had to hire the work done. Labor was more expensive than the actual unit. I do not have instant hot water, but the installer said "You will have "forever" hot water, just not instant". It takes longer to get hot water now with the new tankless heater. When one has to let the water run longer to get hot water, am I really conserving on water? Not really. All that being said, the unit works fine with my 3 bdrm, 2 ba home. I haven't gotten my first untility bill, but hopefully, that will be lower. The extra space in my laundry room is wonderful, now that that big water heater is gone! I'll just have to wait and see at least 6 months before I'm sure I made a great decision to switch water heaters.
