This is a very well made disposal, and is not that dificult to install. Just take your time and check-out all the information on the internet about removing and installing a new disposal. The key to taking on any new project is to educate yourself as much as you can before you start. The Waste King has a good soild sound and more than enough power for what it is designed to grind up and liquidize. Read the manuel and you should have no problems. I'm very happy with my purchase. I did not have to make any changes with the pipes, it fit in perfectly where my old disposal was.

Our new Waste King Legend 9980 1 Horsepower Garbage Disposer was delivered promptly, with all the bits it was supposed to have. It installed quickly and runs so quietly that it is hard to tell if it is working. I would definitely purchase from Overstock.com again and would recommend them to my friends and family.JRM

The disposer was just installed. It took the plumber awhile to put it in because of its size. He had to reconfigure the plumbing under the sink to fit it in with my new sink which has a much deeper tub/basin. It is not silent but much quieter than my old disposer that was actually 38 years old and still working. If you are doing the new sink and disposer, remember to figure in the size of this Waste King. It also plugs in and my old one was hotwired. Points to ponder. BUT, it works great.

I bought the disposer, and had a very good professional plumber install it. It took a couple of tries before he got it in without leaks. It is physically large, and I'd want to be sure there is room under your sink before selecting it. Once intstalled, it has been amazingly quiet, fast, and powerful, and a big improvement over the (GE) unit it replaced. I'd recommend it highly, but after seeing what a pro went through, I would not pick this unit if I were doing it myself.
