I bought the Waste King (my 12 yr old says "Kinda obvious for a name") 8000 to replace a leading brand we put in during our kitchen remodel 5 years ago. The old one leaked recently, then just stopped working...you could hear the motor running, and the blades turned freely using the allen wrench from underneath, but ne'r the two shall meet. The Waste King (lifetime warranty!) installed very easily, and I particularly liked the appliance cord that came with it. This unit runs quietly and chews up broccoli and cauliflower stems with ease using two blades, something the old disposer struggled with using three blades. I like this product! =)

This disposal is absolutely awesome! Purchased my King about 6 months ago and immediately installed it by myself without any problems whatsoever. The power of this unit is very impressive, we've thrown (kids accidently dropped) bones into the drain and hit the power switch. Other than the loud sound of bones being smashed there was no problem with this unit. The thing operates very quietly for the grinding power it possesses. Nothing we've fed into this thing has presented the slightest problem. Highly recommend this unit.

I've had this disposal for almost 2 years now and it still works just like new. It is fairly quiet and I am very pleased with it. I did a lot of research on consumer sites before purchasing it and it was well worth the money so far.

We bought a new home this year. Once we moved in we found out that of all things we had no disposal. I considered this a must. Saw this one online and couldn't believe the price for this type of disposal. We had shopped at all the home stores and also on line. What convinced me was the the reviews. So we purchase one ourselves. We installed it in on a Sunday afternoon. The directions were easy to understand and the disposal was effortless to install. The end results were just what we hoped . I have used this disposal for many things and the disposal is fast and quiet. We would recommend this disposal to anyone for the price and quality can't be beat.

I purchased this disposal because it was rated #1 in Consumer Reports. This was soooo easy to install, and is so quiet the first time I used it, I thought it might be broken. I highly recommend this disposal!

I ordered this item and when it arrived, the product box was open and was missing several parts. Overstock got the new parts out quickly but we were never able to get it installed because the unit was damaged. My husband tried first then, I called in a plumber who said the unit didn't sit it its case properly and could not be installed. Meanwhile, stinky garbage is mounting up in my garage because by now, I have been without a garbage disposal for two weeks. I order from Overstock all the time and this is the first time I have had an experience like this. Very disappointed.

First let me start by saying this is a powerful machine. Second awesome warranty. BUT it came with the case broken, I tested the machine and it worked fine so i just installed, didnt make a fuss. But dissapointed cause it was damaged. I dont know if Overstock.com or Waste should take the blame. The only other thing was it came with wiring for direct plug in and most undercounter disposals dont have a plug so i needed to modify. Other than that the install took 15 minutes.

I bought this unit in October and had it installed in December. It was rather noisy (an odd, straining sound) but otherwise worked okay. After two months, the unit began to leak. I discovered this only when I went down to my cellar and saw water pouring down from above. I called a plumber for an emergency repair and later tried to recoup the expense by contacting Anaheim Manufacturing (maker of the disposal). I was told that, although they had supplied the mounting parts, those parts (in my case, the "discharge elbow") are not covered by the lifetime warranty, as noted in section 5: "5. MISUSE OF DISPOSER: This warranty does not apply to any disposer which is misused, altered, improperly installed or used for anything other than normal private household use. Additional conditions are not covered by the warranty as follows: Electrical connections due to improper installation; leaks at the sink flange, dishwasher inlet or discharge elbow; damage by installer such as excessive torquing of screwed connections; incorrect operation such as grinding non-food waste; and jams." If you buy this unit (and I would not recommend it) be sure to replace (or have your plumber replace) the plastic and quite inadequate drain and other connections with more substantial parts.

This disposal was top rated in consumer digest and suggested price was listed at $100.00 more than what was offered at overstock.com. Overstock delivered quickly and I had the product installed by a plumber. It was a little bigger than my last disposal and my drain pipes had to be reconfigured by the plumber. No big deal- total installation was 89.00. Great unit at a great price with excellent and fast delivery.

The disposal came quickly and is powerful and quiet. The body of the unit is plastic, unexpected, but fine. Installaton was easy. The sink opening for water and garbage to go down is much smaller than our old one, leaving a concern when something gets lodged in the mechanism and needs to be cleared, That is safer since you cannot get a hand anywhere near the blades. Good value!

Quiet and the price was better than the big box stores. So far the product does exactly what it said it would do.

This is an excellent garbage disposal. It is quiet and extremely powerful. Would definetely recommend and buy again.

Nice, powerful garbage disposal. Fairly quiet. It's kind of big and heavy, so check to make sure it will fit before you order it. I had someone else install it and am glad I did.

I love this thing! It is quiet and works very well. One day it stopped working and a guy came out and replaced it with a brand new unit completely free of charge, install and everything, thanks to the lifetime warranty! I bought another for my rental property, too. I highly suggest this product.

It's a big unit. You should have room under your sink if standard height, but worth a check. But don't ever, ever get less than a 1 HP for a home. You will pay, pay, pay, and then pay more for problems, failures, clocks, repairs, etc. Spend extra money and get yourself a 1HP, ideally this unit. It will work like a dream, be quiet, eat through anything you can reasonably expect a disposal to eat through. Buy and be happy.

This is the second of tis product I have purchased; the first was for myself, and the second for my son and daughter-in-law. At this price, I can see no reason to buy a smaller disposal that never lasts. This 1 H.P. disposal is overkill for household use, but is basically the same price as a 1/3 H.P. that you would get at other stores and this one will out last them all.
