although the stained glass is quite attractive, the metal plate is poorly designed and constructed. the screws are not the proper length to install--no big deal, a trip to the hardware store for proper hardware---but once on the wall with the sconce in place and you notice that there is not a bulb made that would fit without being exposed well above the stained glass cover. not the recommended medium base 60 watt (if you could even find one anymore) and certainly not fluorescent. we ended up with a 40 watt appliance bulb and even that sticks out. it's not just inexpensive--it's cheap and really disappointing.
