  • Gorgeous Bath Tiles!

    Dec 17, 2014

    sbtags  from Southern California, Rating:5.0

We now have the best-looking bathroom in town! Couldn't be happier with the look. Yes, the glass tiles are thinner than some varieties, but our installer used a wet saw and didn't seem to have any issues. We used a light gray grout, matching gray on the ceiling and mirrored wall, and charcoal gray cabinets. This is my second somertile installation, and we are very happy with both. The only drawback is having to buy in entire case quantities, which in this case is 20 tiles. The price is great but we ended with fifteen spares. No regrets, very pleased.

  • Nice tile,..used as bath surround

This tile has a combination of the glass (green tint due to normal iron content in the glass) and also has both white and green marble tiles mixed into each sheet of tile in a random pattern. tiles were good quality, but I did have to remove a few individual green marble tiles after I did the initial installation before the thinset dried as a few were WAY darker than others, just tried to make it look more uniform in color so the dark green tiles did not just stick out weird. just switched out the dark green ones for others. Looked great when done and grouted in white. Love the look with chrome fixtures! Very bright and beautiful! FYI: Also looks good with alternating rows of white subway tile! did that in another shower area and turned out great and less expensive than doing the whole wall in these ming tiles.

There are plenty of ways to be period accurate, or differentiate your hex tile project from "the masses," but there's also an entire industry which is capitalizing on the "period" look resurgence, with excessive pricing to match. This is a rational entry level product which provides an economically and visually sound result for the common man. Fit and finish were excellent, and if your sub-surface prep is up to snuff, you can get a professional level DIY result without the wallet pain of higher-priced alternatives. We chose a consumer available epoxy grout product in a beige color for good contrast with the white tile, and had no difficulty cleaning the grout haze from the finished tile surface. The final result has excellent feel under feet, is easy to clean, and isn't too slippery. Radiant floor heat doesn't hurt any, either . . .

  • Excited to use in borders with our antique tiles.

Those rounds seem pretty small, but we're excited to use them in 2-3 row strips as borders with our antique Minton tiles to be mounted in kitchen backsplash in our Victorian home. Nice quality!
