This beautiful piece is an excellent asset to my living room. Made of solid wood, no veneers. Very substantial, it would help to have 2 people assemble it due to weight. Gorgeous, sophisticated, and would fit many styles.

We love this table -it is sturdy, heavy, attractive...and looks great in our room. My only reservation with recommendation would be that it scratches VERY easily. We had it no more then 24 hours when we noticed our first scratches - from our laptop of all things. Not sure how, as it has pads on the bottom. And now, with our 3 kids, we have a multitude of scratches from simple things like moving the popcorn bowl, or a glass...If you don't have kids, and you are careful - this is a fabulous piece of casual furniture.

We had this table for almost a year now and it's great and sturdy.. Great quality for the price. It is very heavy and larger than it appears in the pictures so make sure you check the dimensions.. Our living room is large so it fit nicely with the rest of our decor.

This coffee table is absolutely beautiful! It is very heavy wood, is stained richly, solid workmanship, and it has plenty of storage space. It is quite large but it still looks great in my apartment. My husband didn't have too much fun assembling it though! It takes some time and some muscle power, but it's all well worth the effort. Beautiful piece!

We have the matching console table as well. These pieces have great color and a great finish, and they definitely do match. There was no difference in color between the two. The coffee table is probably the easiest piece I've ever put together from overstock (mostly because it's so simple, and has no drawers). There was a problem with the top of our table. It wasn't broken but one of the pieces of embedded hardware was reversed which made it impossible to put together properly. Overstock send us a new top. Power drill highly recommended, especially for those long bottom screws with no pre-drilled holes. Like the console table, this is very heavy. It would be difficult for one person to move, when vacuuming for instance.

Very happy with this coffee table. We were looking for a large, sturdy, stylish coffee table and this one check off every box. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. Very happy with this purchase.

Love the look, compartments, and style. but I had problems with the assembly. It seemed as though the lock n nut joints were not aligned. The directions are easy to follow; I am a do it yourselfer, so that was not the issue. Other than the assembly issue I love the table. :-)

Good product overall. It was a bit of a pain to put it together, and two corners have minor defects. But a good product for the money and looks great in our modern living room. No regrets.

Wow, this is one heavy, substantial and quality piece of furniture! I tried to assemble it myself and finally gave up when it came to attaching the top. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and have received many compliments already. I'm planning to purchase a piece of glass for the top to protect my investment and to avoid any future water rings or scratches. I dread the day I sell my house and have to move this table though ;)

I would reccommend this table, its very sturdy and very heavy, wider than I thought but fits in small space well. Looks modern and expensive.

I think this coffee table is a little overpriced but still excellent quality for the money (ie, real wood). The design is very sleek, the size and coloring are excellent. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars was because it does scratch easily and is difficult to put together if you are buy yourself or do not have a drill. Also it is EXTREMELY heavy. So, if you live alone, you'll want to enlist some friends to carry/put this together. Otherwise a great buy and I get tons of compliments!

If you like the style buy it! The unit is very solid and assembly is straight forward but not simple. There are always extra connector parts so don't worry about losing anything. I've purchased all three Wakefield peices and been very pleased with each. They look great together and I expect to be around a long time.

We love our new coffee table. It was better than we expected for the price and goes beautifully in our living room. It is well made and was easy to put together. My husband appreciated the clear directions and the extra hardware. Because of our wonderful experience with this purchase, we've ordered a buffet for our dining room from Overstock. We're definite fans.

Overall this is a good piece of furniture. It was mostly easy to put together (see below). I've put similar things together, which helped. While the packaging was a hack, the hardware was well labeled, so it was not too difficult to follow the steps. There have been some complaints about the difficult of putting this item together - and they are both correct and fixable. At the end, you have the item mostly put together but you have - the top to attach to the rest of the base - which needs to fit over 8 bolts This was the only part where I had difficulty. Trying to force it might work, I gave up. If you look at the holes/slots that bolts need to fit into, you'll see that they are lined with plastic (though they are metal inside). However, what holds the top on is not these slots but rather a turn of a screw the connects a rotating metal head with a perpendicular slot onto the top of the bolt. So it seemed safe to me to simply remove some of the plastic surrounding the holds into which the bolts needed to fit. The frustrating this was the top almost fit but I needed a few mm here and there. (I do not recommend doing the following for legal reasons. Read/apply at YOUR OWN RISK. I am not certified or qualified in any actual way to give advice on putting together furniture, or anything for that matter. Don't blame me if you mess things up so badly you cannot return the item. Really, don't do what I did - which worked fine for me.) I took a the serrated knife of a Leatherman to widen the holds side-to-side (on the narrow side). Before I had done that, 20 minutes of pushing, pulling and generally trying force got me nowhere - and made me miss part of an episode of top gear. After doing that, the top went on with little difficulty. In fact, I put this together by myself. I don't recommend do that but I was home alone at the time. Again, this this is what I did. I cannot recommend you do this yourself because you might try to sue me. If you do this and it works, take full credit and don't mention me saying anything at all about it. If it fails, tough luck. In any case, if that last step wasn't such a pain, I'd give this a 5 star rating. I recommend it. It's nice, sturdy, the color works well in our room and the size was what we needed. Not everybody complained about this, so I suspect it's not a universal problem. As I mentioned above, the alignment was really close. Maybe, when screwing the bolts into the base you have to be real careful/lucky about how they end up sitting. Good luck!
