Just got this cabinet and another coordinating one yesterday, and am so pleased I just ordered another one. It is much prettier in person, but mine are a bit darker than shown in the picture (but that worked OK for me). It is VERY distressed, but all solid wood and very sturdy. Heavier than I expected. There are all kinds of colors on the woods and it is hard to say there is one predominant color. But it is perfect for what I wanted and a very fun piece. I also found this piece here on Overstock for a significant lower price than I found on several other sites - so that is a great thing also.Read More
I needed this to be exactly as pictured and what I actually received was pretty far off. It's still a great piece but if you are trying to match colors then I wouldn't recommend it. Mine had very little of the light wood color in it.Read More
I love this cabinet so much. First of all, this was my first O purchase and was nervous about ordering furniture. But the process was so smooth and was delivered quicker than I thought to my front door. Secondly, this is so solid and well built. Thirdly, it's totally a one of a kind as the distressed detail is slightly different than the pic but I love that. And last, It's just a pleasant eye catcher in my home. I walk past it every day and am still so thrilled it dwells here. I plan to purchase more items of its likeness in the near future!Read More
I waited for quite awhile to get this piece for our rec room. Everytime I was ready to buy it was out of stock. It was worth the wait. Quality piece and durable for our rowdy bunch and nice to hide away electronics when company comes over.Read More

Do all of these cabinets have some bluish green color due to the lime wash?
Thank you for your question hollyjc1972. Yes, that is correct. Have a great day.
description says item is "brown" there is clearly blue on this cabinet, explain please?
Thank you for contacting us, overall the color is brown since it is the wood with just lime wash on it. Please let us know if you have any further question.
It's a distressed blueish green sanded finish. Mine has slightly more blueish paint on it than the picture, but I love that. It's obviously unique and one of a kind. No two are exactly the same. Gives it an authentic hand made feel. Perhaps the "brown" label is because of the primary wood component.

If you're searching for a new bookcase, take a look below to learn answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about bookshelves.
Best Bookshelves for Kids
Children's bookshelves and other kids' storage, as a rule, should be low to the ground. Furniture tip-overs have accounted for almost 15,000 childhood accidents each year from 1990 to 2007, according to the Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Children often reach for items on the top of bookshelves, causing tip-overs. With low-to-the-ground kids' storage, children can easily reach their favorite books without parents worrying about the furniture seriously injuring their child.

How to Organize Your DVDs
Many people love to collect favorite movies, programs and television shows on DVDs, whether it's a collection of classics, documentaries, children's movies or everything in between. Most people cherish their collection of DVDs, but you might not know it from the messy pile those DVDs make when shoved into a box or crammed haphazardly onto a shelf. If you've ever spent almost as much time searching for a movie as you have watching it, then it's probably time for you to organize your DVDs. Some attractive media bookshelves can be a great place to start.
Best Bookshelf Materials
It's not unusual for bookshelves to incorporate multiple materials for different features. If you haven't decided on wood, wood products, metal or glass bookshelves, look at their relative strengths and weaknesses. Look below to learn the best bookshelf materials. Wood: "Solid wood" is a common term for furniture made from lumber planks. Beware of making assumptions based on labels like "hardwood" and "softwood." Hardwoods are derived from deciduous trees and softwoods from coniferous trees; the terms don't connote their relative strengths. Balsa is a hardwood even though it is very soft, just as Douglas fir is a softwood even though it is very hard. They all make excellent, classic stock material for bookcases. Generally, harder woods are the heavier and more resistant to scratches. Still, softer woods, if treated correctly, will keep just as well as harder woods. Plywood: Made by stacking thin sheets -- "plies" -- of lumber and gluing them under pressure, plywood features grains that alternate direction for strength. Several grades are available, of differing cost. Top and bottom plies can be high-quality woods to create the appearance of fine woods, but edge veneer or molding is needed to complete the illusion. Particleboard: Wood chips glued together carry a much lower price tag than solid wood, and particleboard is denser and more uniform. It's a great choice when cost is the primary consideration. Bookshelves crafted from veneered composite boards can look and feel as good as real wood. MDF: Wood fibers, tiny chips and sawdust collected and glued into sheets form medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Low-cost MDF makes an excellent base for veneers; plus, its strength is consistent and it shapes well. Metal: There's a reason most library bookshelves are made from metal: Metal bookcases are resistant to moisture and fungus, their low-friction shelves are easier on books' bindings and metal's strength-to-weight ratio can't be beat. Their cost usually comes in below any other material. Glass: Glass bookshelves weigh more than other types, but if you plan on assembling your bookshelves only once, the style points can be well worth it. Tempered glass shelves (in wood or metal uprights, called "standards") give your home an unbeatable contemporary feel, and glass bookcases' smooth, transparent surfaces add brilliant levity to a decorating piece that might otherwise be notably opaque and heavy.
